Not sure what you see wrong, it is a normal Mint Mark but the 5 has a Die Chip.

At first I thought it may have been double struck but looking at the new photo, a double struck would not have the bubbly fields seen on the lower left. I want cannot figure how this would happen during the striking of the coin so by default is PMD ( Post Minting Damage)

It is best to post each coin on it’s own thread with the proper heading. This will avoid confusion. Post a clear photo of each side of the coin. with a closeup of the area of concern and state what specifically what your question is. Looking forward to your photos ( we like pictures here)

Welcome to the Chat Board, hope you enjoy your new hobby. Would you please take another photo of the obverse but with less glare ( like the reverse photo) so that we can see the details more clearly. Also it would to crop your photos, this will make them larger.

Agree, that is Die Deterioration Doubling. A Doubled Die would not show on both sides of the letter.

If it looks the same, then it is damaged the same. It CANNOT be an error.

I agree with Large Date as well but a sharp photo of the date needed to verify that.

If it is a DD, then show a closeup of where you see doubling. Can’t tell anything from that photo. Also if you crop your photos to the edge, it would help enlarge them. We don’t need to look at all that background.

That is also a Large Date, Philadelphia Mint.

Another fake to add to the list. That one looks like it may have been cast.

If this is the same coin you posted earlier, then the answer is the same, it is a Large Date. If it is a different coin, then how do you expect us to form an opinion when we can hardly make out it is even a cent, let alone the date. A closeup of the date is required.

That is a Large Date so it is worth 1 cent.

It is a nice uncirculated Morgan but it is certainly not a MS70 ( I don’t know of any Morgan that is). and I can’t see any sign of a Lamination error. Not sure where somebody got that info from.

Don’t make us guess, please explain what you see as an error. All I see is a regular cent with some corrosion.

Glad they finally got around to changing the description, it should cause less confusion. although I suspect some sellers will still be trying to sell them as a rare 1988 WAM

Welcome to the Chat Board. Glad you are enjoying the hobby, you will never stop learning something new. Suggest you get a Red Book to study US coinage, it doesn’t have to be a new one. As far as the war nickel set, that would be an aftermarket set as the mint never produced anything like that. I see no harm in purchasing it (as long as it is reasonably priced) if you want to break it apart for your collection. If you want, you can supply a photo of it here to get the opinion of others.

Welcome to the forum Overkill on the photos, a complete photo of each side and possibly one or two closeups is sufficient. As far as your cent goes, Coinbuf summarized it pretty good. In that condition it is a cull coin worth 1 cent.

That is Machine Doubling, a worthless type of doubling.

All I see are some flattened letters and maybe a bit of Machine Doubling. Which DDO variety do you think it is?
