  1. Welcome to the forum That is not an error, that is damage. It is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin. Anything that happens after that is considered damage.
  2. That is the way they look when they come from the mint. It probably just hasn’t been in circulation.
  3. Welcome to the forum You should really start your own thread instead of piggybacking on another one. This just causes confusion and is hard to find yours. To answer your question, your quarter is just damaged and worth 25 cents. You
  4. Welcome to the Chat Board I hope you realize that it would cost $55-60.00 to have that graded and the value would be nowhere near that. Put it in a 2x2 or a flip and add to your collection as a minor grease filled die.
  5. What would make you think a damaged and worn regular quarter is worth more than face value?
  6. Hard to help unless you state what you need help with. Most of us aren’t very good guessers.
  7. Copper can change many colours depending on the environment it was exposed to. It can also be the result of being cleaned.
  8. Don’t know why you want it to look shiny, it is a worn coin and looks like it should. Making it shiny would make it look unnatural and devaluate it. Save shiny for uncirculated coins.
  9. Welcome to the forum This is a large coin seller with over 89,000 coins sold. As Just Bob stated, it is not unusual for large sellers to use stock photos as they usually have multiples of the same item for sale. It is possible they use the same obverse photo for multiple variations of quarters. Although it is against eBay policy to use stock photos, these large sellers get a pass due to the large volume of coins they sell. I would not have any issue with buying from this 100% feedback seller with the volume he sells.
  10. Sorry but that is not the1958 DD-001 listed on Variety Vista. There is distinct North South Doubling that does not show on your cent. There may be some MD but hard to tell from photo.
  11. I hope you know the difference between DDO and Machine Doubling. Over 90% of the coins we see on here that people think are Doubled Dies turn out to be worthless Machine Doubling. If you haven’t already sent it out, post a clear photo of the coin on this forum and someone will be able to help.
  12. Welcome to the forum Not an error, it is damage probably caused by a hit. There is no way for that to happen during the striking of the coin.
  13. As low as you can go. 1967 Canadian silver dollar certified by ICCS, 1 of 2 graded PO1
  14. It is an error coin, not a rare coin and certainly not something I would spend $3000.00 on.
  15. Pictures and asking price would be a great help in answering your question otherwise we would just be guessing.
  16. Looks like letters have taken a hit flattening them. Minor anomolies like this are hardly worth looking at. You shouldn’t have to magnify a coin to spot a true error. If you are looking for errors, study a site such as error-ref.com to see what major errors are about.
  17. This is the forum for buying and selling coins. In the future, please post any coins in the “Newbie” forum at the top. Moved by moderator to proper Forum
  18. This is a duplicate post plus this forum is for registered sets, have asked that your post be moved.
  19. Suggest for awhile that you post a clear photo of each coin that you think is worth submitting and we have many knowledgeable people on here you can tell you if it is worth the cost or not to have graded. So many new collectors get damage and anomalies mixed up with true errors which are extremely hard to find in the wild and they want to submit them for grading which is just a waste of money. It can only be an error if it happens during the striking of the coin, anything that happens after that it’s is damage which in 99% of the time is the case. Look at this site to see what actual errors are and see if you have anything that looks like them. error-ref.com
  20. Welcome to the Chat Board First clue is that the gold coin should be smaller than the silver coins. There are also markers on the other coins that indicate they are counterfeit. You do know that it is illegal to buy or sell counterfeit coins. In Canada it is even illegal to own them.
  21. Welcome to the ChatBoards To answer you second question first, google ”NGC Dealers” and enter your address, it will give you the closet dealer to where you live. Hoghead covered it pretty good. It will cost around $60.00 to have a coin graded so unless you have a high grade (which I doubt you have if they are in a jar) or a rare error or variety, it would certainly not be worth the cost to grade. Suggest if there is anything you think is worth grading, post a clear photo of both sides on this site, each coin on it’s own thread and there will be someone hear that can tell you if it is worth grading or to save your money.
  22. The 2x2 says PLUGGED dies , not pushed dies, probably referring to the mint mark. Not sure of your question, but it looks to be a replated cent in which case it would be worth 1 cent. There is no sign of it being double struck.
  23. Not a dot, not even close. The 3 known 1936 dots are all specimens with the last one sold going for over $400,000. What do you think the chances of finding one in the wild are?
