I might have seen this movie , it the one where kid found some kind of “mule” cent or nickel something like that … Then him and his dad started coin collecting after that , his dad was some kind of coin dealer or collector?some guy who suffered from dementia , the Kid grew up joined military went on deployment ….I believe I may have watched that movie once another movie about some coins in few scenes is the movie names a “Dog’s purpose” my and I watched it few years back… where a dog is reborn over and over again in different generations over time , in the one part the kid was showing a friend his father’s coin collection as he was showing his friend a St. Guadens double eagle his Father had in his collection he dropped it on floor and dog ate it 😂 … one evening his father had guest over the house , his father loved his coin collection very much he wanted to show his guest , somehow the kid managed to get dog outside to do his business he found the coin and snuck it back into his father’s coin case … funny scene , also sad at end of each era’ when dog passed on was reborn into another generation and another era as puppy with another new owner … I provided YouTube link to coin part of the coin scene

I know that … they are paid to tell someone if their coin is PQ or within the grade of satisfaction that John Albanese and graders who work for him would like if they had to buy the coins themselves then putting a sticker on it to stands out from all rest of coins that are not beaned … it help create a secondary market within market …. They could of set the bar little more higher get stricter with allowance what being sent to them , just like they didn’t accept modern coinage for CAC evaluation … Right now they are basically running parallel with two big dog grading companies who been around for awhile trying to get a little chip in market …. I get it , we’ll see how they do in near future it’s too early to say how they will fare out

I realize where you’re coming from bud you do have a point ….I’m not in no way against CAC at all it’s the people that send coins to them to be beaned like a common date Walker in MS64 with CAC bean with asking price $130 , when you can get straight graded Non-beaned MS65 $135 … just an example … Ive seen it in the past … although CAC did their job beaning the coin yeah … but , to create a market in between Two bigger tier graders who been around for long time by slapping beans on coin and expecting an “in between the market mark up the price a little hype” that just doesn’t sit with me right …. Although CAC does do a good job on their coins why would dealers or people send in low quality coins to flood market with CAC beans? … I can see more sought after higher end coins being CAC sticker help boost a sale pitch for that coin … CCAG will take off eventually they had loyal cult followers who loved the BEANS ! I’m sure they’ll fully support CACG and help create market , but will they be as big as PCGS ? NGC ? It’s too early to say at the moment

ANACS always put a numerical number grade along with detailed problem on slab …. IMO ANACS was and still is most toughest on cleaned coins I see tons and tons of ANACS coins detailed cleaned while PCGS and NGC will let some slide and straight grade … cleaned coins usually don’t sell very well , unless they are a key date or scarce coin they will exchange and sell …. Sadly there’s a lot cleaned coins out there which is very very common and PCGS alone detected like 16,000+ of them within last 30 days of grading out of 259,000 coins they graded in last 30 days

I don’t want my wife watching movies about coins …. That’s my personal hobby none of her business … HA ! I wouldn’t want to sit down watch a movie about sewing and plant collecting that’s her hobby

@andythestacker well welcome to forums …. Little advice to give ya , it’s more better to ask question about a particular coin or bullion whatever FIRST ! before buying …. Just common sense in this type of hobby for newbies to learn about “do and don’t” we could have prevented you from spending your money on rubbish that isn’t worth a hoot … ! But it’s too late you bought the coin first then oddly came on here asking about it ….

No disrespect for John Albanese and graders he hires , but I never fully ever really embraced the CAC beans … problem I saw was common coins in common grades being Beaned with CAC sticker …. When you can buy a higher grades PCGS/NGC coin instead of wasting money on lower grades common dated CAC sticker coin …. Where I do agree with CAC sticker stuff is when it comes to higher end stuff that’s more harder to get on market among collectors … it would be interesting see how CACG would take off , all it needs is its cult followers and supporter to help boost the market and demands (which is easy) sorta like PCGS dealers/kool-aid drinkers who thinks all their coins are better and worth more than any other grading company out there so in time yeah I think CACG will succeed

@Sandon Thanks for pointing that out, I was somewhat aware of that … I just took a quick screen shot of 42 (with the “special” signature labels) that were graded even then that didn’t make it a rarity.. not when ya got 42 at 70s not a single 69 or 68 ? talk about the abuse of 70 grade ? It was awarded way way too easy …

@bobbyboshay Far far far from being a true “rarity” more rather a very very very common bullion coin … The population in PF70 is so high it’s ridiculous someone would pay $10,000 -$20,000 for 1995-W proof !!!

is it rarity ? Or should it be called a “rarity” ? My opinion on this take I collect classic coinage I don’t collect anything modern nor do I have desire to collect modern coinage and bullion such as ASE … it is by no means to me a rare coin on market …. Simple google search turn up tons on PF70’s 1995-W ASE …. What makes them worth so much is people who are pushing the demands as they build their sets …. Will that fan fire keep holding for next decade or so ? Hard to say , even in Classic coinage such as the Commemorative half dollars were once very very hot property guys were pouring tons and tons of money into them building their sets , then all sudden one days the market just crashed nobody cared pay high dollars for them anymore … they had a low mintage , it just didn’t matter anymore … same could happen to 1995-W ASE proof in near future take trip over to world coin section read topic “once hot - now they are fallen stars” …. I predict the 1995-W proof will be on that list as well the market comes in cycles and waves and CRASHES I should say

Yes it’s key date to the series Yes it worth upper $10,000 to $18,000 (unconfirmed) or so going by heritage auction house prices in a PF70 grade ! So you got your answer PF69 is a lot less more like $1,600-$3,000

To bring up another point , these days I rarely very rarely buy Raw coins online anymore no matter how great they look …. Pictures we see online and when we get the coin in hand looks a lot different than what we expected …. When ever I do buy raw coins it usually from coin show where I’m in person …. Maybe some has had better luck than me , but most of the “good” coins already been graded in holders of you’re willing to save up a little more $$$ and buy it already graded sometimes the bidding wars on eBay for raw coins even nice Morgan dollars boggles my mind people are paying a lot more money (sometimes) over limit what a graded Morgan or nice coin is already going for !!!! To get a coin that will probably grade MS63 Plus fees to have it graded ??

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder … wish you well hope you win it , I’m not familiar with this seller but this seller has 100% feedback after selling 27,000+ coins or whatever on that eBay account they have a return policy which is good deal not too many sellers willing to go that length with return policy … normally coins in that caliber wind up in TPG holders why it’s not in holder ? I don’t know why … then again some people still love Raw Coins… be prepared 27 bidders on that coin you’re gonna get into a bidding war up to last minutes of that auction try to contain yourself set MAX price and stick with that price even if you’re gonna lost it … just way bidding is I don’t have enough fingers and toes on body to count how many times I’ve lost bids on nice nice coins for my collection I’m sure a lot of other members can relate to that as well …. It’s heartbreaking !

The very first day they started 3rd party grading that’s when market went into hype … everyone trying get the highest grade coin in their collection which in return boost the prices up on all coins and series … sometimes we often wonder if 3rd party grading is what ruined the hobby ? Some say yeah some say no … just look at all the hype and high bidding going on for high grade coins … the hobby turned into a big investment platform within last 20+years or so since 3rd party started grading coins that just keep driving the prices higher and higher … everyone worry how much their coins are “worth” like there’s a Tom, and Harry around every corner ready to whip out the wallet and shell out high dollars for coins like it’s drugs they gotta have it

Thanks goodness they did not dabble into world coin sectors … they were talking about it once but plan must of gotten scrapped probably due to large spread in world graded coinage lack of population reports and so on …. We are living in the days where coin grades over lap so much nobody cares unless they can get a higher grade that worth more $$$… so it’s safe to say all everyone cares about is flipping coins for more money ? But not the true to heart collecting ? but “hey ! Theres a new grading company let’s promote them and spend our hard earn money and jack the prices up!!!” …. Welcome to Market grading !!!! Seems like coin shows are becoming target places for thieves to hang around after show over they follow a dealer to their house or where ever … extreme cautions need taken when purchasing or moving expensive coins at the shows never know what looney bin is following you home … Even a more reason to start carrying a handgun
