  1. Kitco today: Ask 26.10 Bid 26.20. Pinehurst 2021 Uncirculated ASE 1 to 9 $40.99 Check or wire $42.22 CC Now, there's no way I'd pay that for an ounce of silver.
  2. In my case it's just laziness that prevents me from digging out those pounds of silver (bars, rounds, ASEs) and driving 40 miles to sell them for $26.00 or less so some Dealer can turn around and sell it for $42.00 an ounce. The Silver, along with the Gold, will sit there until I, me, my gets a reasonable price for it. Dealers aren't anywhere near Spot and they carp when we say "No deal".
  3. In the Mint's one of the last E-Mails they said something about "Bots" as the cause of it's problems. Silver, bots, the Internet, software and the excuses go on. Why doesn't the Mint use that Captcha stuff to get rid of those pesky bots? (Courtesy of our friends ATS):
  4. Nice stash. I'm really surprised at those 'Steel' cents considering all the tanks, ships, etc they were making. Pittsburgh, PA was a booming place.
  5. There was a fella over on EBay who called himself 'thedockter' that specialized in 'unusual' coins.
  6. Whoever said "There's a sucker born every minute" must have had these so called 'Privy Marks' in mind. You should read the out pouring of love for the CC Privy Mark ATS. If I want to see a Double C mint mark I'll dig this one out.
  7. Postage paid? They could not have chosen anyone better. Congratulations and may you have many fun and interesting meetings.
  8. Yep. Got one too. Maybe the guy just wants to move on. Maybe it was political. Don't make no difference to me. As far as I'm concerned Brett did a good job while he was there.
  9. Absolutely 100% agree with you Roger except for the part "some are ruined". I believe they were all ruined and I hope those so called 'Coin Doctors' choked on their money.
  10. EBay used to be famous for these people. They ruined a lot of Morgan Dollars by 'cooking' (Artificial Toning) them. Many nice coins were ruined and many of those AT coins were bought only to receive the dreaded 'Questionable Color' designation. I wonder what happened to all those AT coins???
  11. I had an nickle once but he passed away. Here in Pennsylvania we believe
  12. $32.00 - $38.00 on EBay. It originally sold at the Mint for $40.00.
  13. Very nice gifts. Volterra is nice; I have a four slab plus an album in red. Happy father's day.
  14. Agreed 100%. However "lately". My disappointment began with the 1980s sets and really set me against US Mint with that 50 State Quarters Program. Sometimes new ideas aren't always good ideas. Once upon a time our money, coins and paper, was beautiful. What happened to the Mint???
  15. First, if your container is flimsy or not well constructed you will lose no matter what, Here are the steps I go though and I do hope I can be of some help: I place the flips or the slab in one of those corrugated mailers that fold over and protect the flip or the slab. You can buy these from Wizard of any other coin supplier just look under Coin Mailing. Then I wrap this small thin package in bubble wrap and place it in a small USPS small Priority Mail box. This makes it too big to go through the Automatic Sorting Machine. Then I wrap the entire box in glass reinforced tape and seal that in a Express Mail envelope and ship it Overnight Mail insured. In decades I have yet to have one lost, stolen, misplaced or damaged. (Knock on wood) Nor have I had a client ever complain. If your receiving broken or damaged goods get another seller.
  16. Perhaps I did not make myself clear; perhaps you misunderstood. I meant this for people who ship coins via USPS, FedEx or UPS raw or slabbed. If you seal your package as well as NGC or PCGS you have no worries. Accidental destruction your package would take what amount of force? If it arrives open you know for sure it was THEFT. PCGS is now returning your graded coins in those plastic slab boxes wrapped with heavy brown paper and with every inch covered in reinforced tape. I knew I would find a good use for all those old NGC boxes I have kept. Remember, this is nothing more than a suggestion to share how I have not had any problems. Cheers.
  17. The key to a successful shipping. People: When you get your coins back how well does NGC or PCGS package your coins? If you package and tape up your coins as well as they do you have no worries.
  18. There has been much discussion about 'Branch Mint' Proof coins. Some claims are nothing more than the false designation of 'Proof Like' or 'Deep Mirror Proof Like'. I would like to hear RWB's take on this.
  19. How's the weather at the beach? Must be a nice day for searching.
