I need to put my two cents in. LOL

there that was it. two cents worth.

A long time ago I remember a song that the singer said, "here's 10 cents cuz my 2 cents are free"....

Your post got me laughing, which, unfortunately is rare for me these days....thanks and Peace...

  4. Before 2015 it was a mess...prices all off the charts, too high, too low...many Dealers would come to my table(s) and try an show me the prices..saying, "it's right here in the guide, see, your asking too much", and I would reply, "those prices are wrong and that's for regular coinage of the type, weak strikes and basic generic material, not what I'm selling....let's compare"....

Pissed alot of them off but oh well...sharks on the bourse...many of the shows before 2015 and until January this year you couldn't use the CDN.....unless buying/trying to get an edge on someone...

Many of the coins I offered were from a Midwest collection, CAC candidates and off market for 2 generations...

Funny how they ended up paying my ask later on anyway or paid MORE AT AUCTION FOR THEM LATER.....

I wondered about this. The PNG part really bothered me but this makes sense. I suppose there is only so much you can do to educate people unwilling to learn. The “branch mint proof Morgan” guy, the “SMS set” guy, and the “1969  S DDO” guy are all great examples of ignorance outweighing reason. It's a shame but ultimately not our responsibility.

Yes, exactly this....I enjoy reading the knowledgeable persons posts and it reminds me of things I forgot...crazy...

Some people I'd like to be like, "I don't buy Rare Violins because I don't know anything about them"....and I sure as h*ll don't argue about it with those who do!!!!!!

Darn! I keep forgetting the whole Registry angle, probably because the entire concept makes me wanna barf.

It does me also. I start to think about a coin and my stomach gets kinda queezy and I start thinking about how to pay for it, what angle at auction, I go through other coins and then don't want to sell them so I stretch for another one. My nervousness starts because I go and do it again and I know it. When I think of all the Gold and Silver and Rare Coins I tremble. Sometimes "barf" as you described. The fact that my addiction has lead to personal Family concerns, yeah barf .....I'm right there with you....

I used to hoard every coin, simple change etc..separate the best looking ones but keep them all....started when I was very young.

Love of Money can be a seriously powerful thing...Good and unfortunately evil.

    mon trésor est caché......

What ever WAS the purpose of collecting MS or PF 70 coins, ESPECIALLY ASE's? I submit

I'm in the 69 camp or less if a grade if the coin has outstanding attributes or a deep, as intended strike...maybe even heavy luster on s lower grade over a 70....

However, the connoisseur or Registry owner may argue different. In the end is it about $$$$ or Prestige.....bragging rights....?

I personally have seen certain year eagles, like 1997....tough year for a perfect 70....many of the Gold Bullion Coins in Smaller denomination are like that also...(early 90's)....

Oh dear! Another lamb being led to the slaughter. When will they ever learn? Your PNG dealer should be brought up on charges. They are supposed to be preventing this kind of waste of time and money.

I agree with this....however, we've had people just insist on us sending it in for them and we risked a lawsuit for not doing do when we even charged them applicable terms on doing so...

They had cash so....as I said, we had no choice really. Lawyer said we were providing a service to all and we were getting the money do....I lost that battle.

I don't mistrust, how bout, I'm very cautious at everything that I take in... From all types of sources n situations.. I've always worked with the public so their opinions matter but there is also a "But" to that..I appreciate the info y'all have provided me with, it seems to me to be very honest and fair.. I'm good with that... Thanks

I wouldn't pay any attention to him...the research your doing by asking is honorable...I'll PM a condition and price info along with VAM numbers...take care...
