With a lot of surplus coins, you could try a local show. Organize what you have, determine what to display, and price aggressively to draw customers and interest. Don't rent more table space than you (or with a helper) can supervise and sell from. Track all sales and item requests that you could not fulfill. Make your table space attractive and interesting - not merely a copy-cat flat space among all the other copy-cat flat spaces. If there's a curtain behind your backup table, use that space to attract attention. You might love to "talk coins" but you are there to sell (and possibly buy) - most of the coin talk will be limited to individual items. 20 seconds is the maximum time you will have to engage a potential customer. Recognize that a large proportion of those visiting your table will be poorly informed or ignorant of coin terminology....it's what they are and you can't change that in 20 seconds.
When the show is over, make a cold business examination of what sold-what sat, revenue vs time and expense. Unfilled requests will help you understand the potential buyers at this show and to make estimates for future shows.
PS: Know your inventory.
PPS: Be careful in what information you share with other dealers. Before, during and after.

The 7070 is a very early concept to learn in this hobby. We are in danger of losing a generation of collectors’ knowledge to Dansco’s production weakness. They haven’t actually done a production run of 7070 albums in years. Maybe the scarcity is soon over. The supplies dealer at the Dalton show had gotten 8 new cases of albums.
My 7070 is Personal for me. Every coin is not regular or extremely high grade but special, like variety wise and or eye appeal.

Thank you sir. My collection has branched out all over the place here lately. I just pick up what appeals to me. There is no rhyme or reason anymore.
Nice, I'm the same usually on regular purchases, rhyme and reason in a series though...some days I drift back into varieties, upgrade the 7070, maybe bullion...I went through a huge branching out phases before...peace

...in addition to the Guide Book?
My impression is that only a small proportion actually read any of the hobby books published each year. What do others think?

A graded coin will be more likely to bring in a higher price and also hold it, This 2011 is a NGC Top Pop it is worth $70 the price did not go down on the slab coin when the price of silver dropped. The one below it was hand picked by me at a coin shop it is the same year mint and quality and I think it is worth $35 to $45 now with the price drop.
Exactly! You are correct...if silver dropping but premiums remain then the floor is strong and value increase then.. I can see this with the slabs like your above...THIS COIN I HAD THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE AS YOU NOTED....

Should I get my 12 gold eagles graded? I have two 2001s which I think are "key dates".
Have NGC grade them and I guarantee they will sell quickly....sight unseen vs. the drama of selling raw....

I sense an undercurrent of discontent in your compendium, lovingly compiled over time, much of which does not appear to have been addressed, much less acknowledged, by the industry at large. These are a comprehensive laundry list of symptoms in support of a diagnosis. All the warning signs are there, warts and all, for all to see. The only question is whether or not enough of the Golden Goose remains to enjoy a revival since the hobby's heyday many decades ago.
I could just as easily find 24 positive comments compiled the same way. PMA = Positive Mind Attitude

No one is required to use CAC, and as you can see from some replies there are those that are not a fan of the CAC business model. However if you are selling and the coins are extra nice and you do not have them reviewed by CAC you run the risk that your coin might fly under the radar and underperform at auction.
And this is exactly why I am involved and Love coins...the difference between some of us is....

I absolutely HATE the entire concept of CAC and I refuse to consider it even marginally legitimate. Just my opinion.
I stopped reading further when I read you...my corroded 2 cents worth is that I have benefited from CAC. Forever in the beginning it was "well the coin is worth $$$$ and it has a CAC sticker so $$$ more..."then things changed like always. I think either way if the coins are strong high quality then it doesn't matter (just on search engines) but if you sticker Low Balls...I won't speak against, too many like it. Personally, the Better Coins in my Collection have CAC...but back to the sticker thing the price increases....Not starting a duel friend but if I placed 2 coins side by side and covered up the area of CAC Attachment Zone could you tell me which one is or isn't CAC...? that's crazy..wonder what that would mean?

Who did they make blue cores for?
Sorry, the Gov. Mint had some for sale, that private company not the mint, they pay heavy on advertising and they pop up on standard searches.

Few photos and questions.
Two blank planchets identified like "Estonia"
So the question is why Estonia? Why not Austria, or France, or Latvia, or Portugal? How to recognize the Country?
And the final question.
If I will write in description like on the photo, do I get them with countries which are written?Sorry, your last question I think that I was submitting Canadian coins recently and was selecting which ones for the Canada special holder red images I think..they have a list of countries that they can do that, as of a couple weeks ago..

If I will write in description like on the photo, do I get them with countries which are written?Documentation, sometimes simple, sometimes complicated, (like provenance from auction), if the French Planchet was 2.8g and the Latvia was 2.5g and both Metallurgically the same...then certain aspects could be matched to which mint produced. I was adding to my U.S. struck Foreign coin collection and I enjoyed the comparisons in my mind of which mistakes have happened and which ones we know of etc,..pretty cool stuff...could also be the Boys and Girls doing direct submission then returning them to the U.S. market, which might account for a few more Obscure coins from obscure countries slabbed. More POPULATIONS of graded coins of 1 only and/or 2,3...5,6 certified now/soon/then...etc..

Just shy of certain, I’d say. In this day and age, if it doesn’t help their fundraising, Congresscritters couldn’t care less. I did legislation for a living in PA, but I’ve completely lost faith in that branch.

I happened through Meridian Mississippi today on my way back from a work trip, and looked to see there was a small coin shop there. No expectations. I ended up with these three. The guy was very nice and reasonable. I’m not a big Franklin guy, but he has very nice franklins galore. A few top pops I saw. I have a hard time passing up anything with a star that is justified.
The seated dime is in a really old and cracked ANACS slab graded MS 64, and I paid 64 money. The toning is beautiful and I and going to get it reslabbed and feel like it has a 50/50 shot or better getting an upgrade. We shall see. But the eye appeal sold me.
Very Nice Coins...I Love Franklin Halfs, Proofs first then MS...even varieties, I need to dig out some NGC Star* Franklins...they are nice and yours are too!
Dime looks tough, higher grade one too....

I know..I stopped thinking or actually caring about it. I always think "First Strike" in Military terms...So, to me, in my head, in coin universe, the First Strike is the last struck coins from the U.S. Mint for a particular series, that were shipped and stored in the Distribution Facility. The last remaining coins in the Distribution Centers would be First Strikes, hence the Delivery cycle??? this I have heard...Echoing off Planets and Moons from station to station...Even though I'm a CAC Lover, I still always focus on coin first...or in this Rare instance a Medal. I'm not really a Medal Fan but I respect them. This was purchased for a completely different reason....How many FS can be designated...I don't know...how many are there? That can be looked up...
