Newp for the V Nickel Collection...
-
My Liberty Head Nickel collection was originally started with a dozen or so
coins that were pulled from circulation by my Grandfather back in the 30's and 40's.
The one coin in my collection that was a 55 [ all the others are a min. 58+ ]
is the 1883 No Cents... ... My Grandfather saved over 25 of these No Cents nickels...
I guess durning the Depression many a piggy bank got raided.
My raw coins were sent to PCGS for grading last year and I plan on giving
my AU 55 to my 1st cousin's son, who is a Junior at Stonehill College in
Massachusetts, with the hope that one day, he gives it to his Grandson !!
Here's the NEWP for my collection:
-
Love the Half Cent.
Very healthy looking coin.
It was worth the wait !!

This is a recent purchase for my cousin's 56th birthday -
he was born in 1956 - so I thought he'd appreciate the gesture:

A friend has sent me a few Quarters to see if I can use them
when I am at the ANA Summer Seminar this June 23 to July 6th
in Colorado Springs.
Ponyexpress8 and I are conducting a course in the coinage
of Charles Barber during the second week - not only will there
be over a Quarter of a Million Dollars in Barber material - but
some well known Barber Collectors will be making a guest appearance.
Needless to say, I am excited to finally make it to ANA - and
its something I have always wanted to do since I heard about the ANA.
Too bad I wasn't more involved in the hobby while I was a student
ages ago. Be that as it may - there are still spaces left in the Seminar
to any one who is interested.
I have a PDF file with all the information that I can forward to all
who might be interested. I just need a PM from you with your email
address.
Thanks...
Now - lets see some more Barbers !!!
These four are currently listed ATS on the BST - but I plan on taking them
to Colorado Springs if unsold by then.

PCGS PF65 CAC. Larry Shapiro collection.
I always thought that dealers shouldn't collect ... as they keep too much
for themselves and not enough stock for customers. I was pleased to see
the beautiful Barber coins that Larry had in his collection and now they are
all for sale on his web site.
Ankur, you certainly cherry picked a beauty !!

I'm growing very partial to Mercury Dimes...

Yes, Jom, it is a really nice coin - and
I sold it not too long ago for a friend.

Thought you'd like to see my old half...

That Red Two Center is absolutely beautiful !!
I am scared to death of Red Copper though because
I live in SW Florida - I know sooner or later my RD's
become RB's.

A friend mentioned that another nice XF/AU collection
of Halves was just sold to his dealer - and he had quite
a few upgrades for me - but these two are my newps ...

I replaced the previously posted 1904-S in PCGS 40 with the one
I have imaged above. I think this one is far more natural looking
than the one I posted the other day.

Three new Dimes:
For the CBD Collection:
For my Grandmother's Birth Year Collection:
For my budding Mercury Collection:

I found this "Baby" on eBay this morning - and
one of our own spotted my eBay name - and asked
if it was I who was bidding on his coin [ no names
mentioned ] ... so he was nice enough to stop the
auction and award the coin to me at my bid price.
Talk about a nice guy !!
Many thanks again, and I know you may not have
wanted your name out there - but you know I sincerely
appreciated the jesture !!
-
Bobby,
That's a stunning Buffalo !!
I'm pleased you'd didn't fall trap for the
1938-D - which I usually see posted.
Good job - its got a great look !

Spotted this Quarter and I don't usually find
nice Seated Quarters that often; this one is
for my Great Grandfather's Birthyear collection.
