    Jom,

There were a bunch of great Barbers in that Heritage sale last year.

As a matter of fact there was a large group of Barber collectors sitting

behind me - they did not know who I was at the time - and the bidding

was spasmotic - as no one wanted to bid against each other - the internet

and phone bids were the heavy bidders - and although one bidder sitting

behind me won my 1913-S Quarter [ PCGS 55 / ex: ICG 58 ] he was up

against serious competition. I still think he did very well, I expected it to

    hit 12K.

A very close friend was given the opportunity to cherry pick my Dime

Collections - and he did a bang up job. I believe he bought 80% of my

newly graded raw set and 20% of my pre certified collection. I forced him

to buy two coins that I knew he should have - even though he initially didn't

think they were necessary. He still thanks me for making him buy my nicer

    looking 1893/2 in PCGS 58 - and my 1905-O - Micro O in PCGS 58 Dimes.

As fate would have it, it is he that is now supplying me with coins he's replacing.

Many of my raw coins came back in XF45 to AU 55 holders - although the original

sellers sold them to me as AU 58's. PCGS was extremely harsh with their grades

on my raw collection. They wouldn't grade one coin - which I sent in twice - and

each time it came back in a body bag. I got fed up and sent it to our hosts and

here is the result... I still own this coin ... and its one of my all time favorites:

Here's the same coin when it was in the Dansco:

Sorry about that - I only copied the images - not knowing their size.

I recopied the images - but they are just as large.

I really like what you did - nice job and I wish I knew how to

reduce the size - and combine the images.

I'm not computer savy enough to deal with this...

I apologize that the images were so large.

Here is another newp - but I'll delete it if its too large ....

  4. I had the occasion to browse eBay this morning and spotted a great Quarter.

I don't collect them anymore - but knew a friend who'd love to upgrade his

example [ he has a 58 which I do not like ] and I loved this 58 immediately.

He laughingly shot back in a Text - no wonder you like it...

    its your old coin...

    Darn, if he wasn't right...

Guess if I liked it once, I'll like it again.

I have not posted too much recently - but I just saw that this Thread now has

    100,235 Hits !!! WOW !

I have to agree, I love those 1839 Coppers as well.

I have always wanted to inspect a high graded set

including the 39/6 and the 39 Petite Head. I'd be thrilled

to look at them some day - maybe have them on display

at your favorite dealer's table at some FUN show perhaps ? :)

I don't think I showed this one off - I bought it as an impulse purchase

as I normally only collect MS SLQ's... but I once had a few nice sets of

of AU 58's in my time.

Love the die clash at her knee !!
