Picked up a few odds and ends for the 1861 Mint Set
Here are new images of my 1861 coins:

I have been going over my upgrade list and realized
that i have a long way to go to finish up the Half collection...
However, the new Dime set is progressing smoothly.
This is very disturbing as I thought the set was nearing completion.
I await the half dozen Halves that I just won at the last Teletrade
auction so I know if they are acceptable or do I need to replace
those as well... I think 4 of 6 are perfect... I am a bit concerned
about 2.
As they say:
"Buy in Haste, Repent in Leisure"....

My favorite date for CBQ's !!
Excellent example.... Possibly ex: Hayes
Probably...but then again I think every coin is "Ex Hayes".
Nice 1850 half dime, Martin!

Jom,
I think you have me mixed up with Jimmy Hayes.
He had a collection I could only dream of owning !!

Found this one....these CBQ are a pain to find nice:

Found this at Great Collections and thought it looked interesting
...as I am putting together a MS Date Set of these little baeuties...
These are scans - and I'm sure the coin will image just fine - I know
there is luster under all that toning - can't fool me !!

Sweet Seated Mike!!!
It's not really Mike. It's FAKE Mike. Real Mike wouldn't buy anything other than a Barber.
jom
PS: Nice one Mike!
Be careful on eBay these days, as there really is a fake Mike.
There is a scam artist under the name HAYES777
Two friends have already fallen prey to him.
My eBay name is the same as here, ELBESAAR .
Oh, and JOM, I actually collect a lot more than Barbers.

EDIT: Here is a new image of a Dime I picked up a few months ago...
I had picked up another of the same date by accident [ bad memory ]
and this coin was far superior - even though the other was of a higher grade.

Traded some Duplicate CC-DMPL's for this
The seller said that the coin had an older holder and a CAC - but he
reholdered it - and one of these days - when I am ready to sell it - I'll
resubmit it to CAC.

Jom, Thanks !
You need to see the coin in hand to fully appreciate it.
I have every intention of sending the coin to the photographer
and he'll do a whole lot better than the scans I posted.
In the mean time, I had two new Dimes imaged for my
VF/XF/AU set ....

Stopped by Rich Uhrich's table at the ANA and I asked to see any Seated Halves
that I might like - he showed me a few I would have loved to buy - but the budget
just wouldn't allow an 1870-CC in PCGS 55 - or an 1873 N/A Open Three Half in
PCGS 58 - OMG !!
But here is a great looking type coin - and its always a pleasure seeing Rich !!
-
OP - Just wait - I picked up an other 1895 Phila issue.
This one is hands down one of the nicest looking Dimes in existance.
Images to follow.
