I am slowly working on a Barber Dime Date Set in MS... only toned coins...
I think this'll qualify ............

Lehigh- I have no doubt that it will get into the graded holder you want.
It's a nice coin and I'd be proud to own it as well.
-
Won this duplicate 09-S Half last night - albiet not the
cleanest 40 I have seen - just that its a tough coin to
locate in grades above VF 20.

The 1897 Quarter is as Jom has guessed,
either a 64 or a 65.
The neck chatter [ albeit minimal ] precludes
a higher grade.
I like it a lot as well !

Picked up another nice Dime for my latest set...
...... and this 1902-O - which is a duplicate - but has the look I like...
......................Care to guess the grade ? ..........

Irv....That's one of the most attractive Morgans I have ever seen !
Thanks Mike.for the kind words, but I'm sure there are a lot of appealing Morgans to come. (thumbs u
Btw the coin and photo were courtesy of Shane (kryptonite comics)
No, Irv, I really mean it, that is one of the absolute prettiest Morgans I have ever seen.
As they say, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Your coin is like a Monet ... Most of the
wildly toned Morgans I see look like a 1st grader water colored over them. Sorry, that's
just how I see it. The subtleties of the color gradation on your coin are just plain magnificent !
Yes, Shane has a good eye - I was hoping to have run into him earlier this month at the
local Ft Myers coin show in Florida.

Lehigh96 - nice 1897 Quarter - how many years has it been in the Dansco ?
I left my Dimes in for close to 16-18 years and they toned up beautifully. I'd
leave the Quarter in a while longer to develop deeper color. Nice coin BTW.
OP, the 1886 V Nickel is a really tough date and was the last coin needed
to complete my set. Your's seems nicer than a 61. I bought a no name TPG
AU 53 that I sent into the graders ATS & was lucky to get it back graded, let
alone in an AU 58 holder. No one was more shocked than I was !
Thanks guys for sharing your coins. Anyone else have a coin they'd like to share ?
Like this one from Mike Valente ?

Just picked this one up on eBay, but the cert number is wrong
according to PCGS - regardless - the coin is genuine - and I'm
just going to have to send them the images once I get the coin
in hand in a week or so...

Ok, the 1921 Peace Dollar has been up for too long...
How about a Walker ?

I just got off the phone with Labelman87 - a good friend & Barber Quarter collector;
he just informed me that he has already received his shipments from both S/B & HA.
HA normally express mails me my purchases, maybe because I spend too much (?)
Seriously, this auction was not all that expensive for me - actually I kept all the newps
under their max for a credit card. Regrettably I had to mail S/B a check. Lowering their
credit card threshold has proven to be a pain. If they extend a certain credit limit ( self
imposed, I might add ) they should honor credit card charges ( especially Debit Cards)
to cover purchases up to their credit limits ( for bidding purposes ).
Still ranting - sorry - just I get anxious waiting for my newps. EBay has spoiled me,
everything I buy "BIN" is shipped the next day and I usually get the newps within 3 days !!
Patience is a virtue, I know that, I just ran out of patience and no one has called me virtuous
for many years !!

I am patiently waiting for the last two auction purchases to arrive.
It seems as in the past S/B is slower than molasses, but this time,
instead of sending invoices out by mail ( first ) - they send them out
an an email. If you spent over $2500, they only want a check. If I were
smart, I would have not bid on one coin so I would have fallen under that
limit and would have put the charge on my AMEX card. Three days later,
I got another email saying they have not received payment - guess they
never heard that mail takes a few days. Three day goes by and I receive
yet another email saying they have not received payment. I look at my
Bank of America on line account and see that the check has cleared. Jeez !!!
Later that day, they emailed me saying they had received my check... No
mention of when they were shipping of course... That would have been too
professional. Maybe they will screw up my shipment again and send me
another $138K coin like the last time. However, this time, they can fly out
to pick it up.
Oh, yeah, the purchases were only Barbers ; If S/B handled their clients as
Heritage does, I would have already received my coins "on good faith" and
they would have received my check at the same time.
Heritage's auction was a week and a half after Stacks' and I will guarantee you
I will have the Heritage winnings long before the S/B's.
Sorry for the rant...

Jom,
I had a few other sets* - but this set only has well toned coins -
and I have about 40% really pretty coins. Check out the NGC
Barber Dime Date Sets... Mike Hayes Mint State Date Set.
I believe all the coins are listed and have images attached !
{*} - Most coins I buy have toning - and if they didn't - they went
into the Dansco .......like this ... all these coins were once blast white !
