I guess we can all say ---- Back in the day ...........
It was fun till the friends list was deleted and more coin sales adds were added. Now it is more of a purchase NGC graded site then a coin social site.

It is so great to see a hobby expense helping out a cancer research project!!!
-
That really states the value of a CAC sticker on your slab!!
It's all sales gimmick B.S.!!!!
-
Well,
Good Luck Bud!!

Nice addition to a SWEET set!! That coin sure put some whopper points into an already rank #1 set.
When you want to add to that state quarter set MS67's --- give me a shout. I submitted around 300 state quarters in 2016 so I have plenty of extras.

It sure makes coin collecting more fun when you team up with a few other collectors building the same set. Without the teamwork I would just have my wife to talk to about coins. Do you really think she wants to hear about my coins? -----

The pics are a little smaller than I thought they would be.
Since it is hard to read the dates and I can't edit the post here are the coins in order;
1'st nickel -- 1945-S MS65 5FS
2'nd nickel -- 1947-D MS67 5FS
3'rd nickel -- 1953-D MS65 5FS
4'th nickel -- 1956 MS66 5FS

Let those silver riders run!! I also didn't add many coins last year so you aren't alone on
the loss of excitement for last year. I sold around 10 nice dimes in November to a interested
registry Roosevelt set builder and I sold a lot of lower stuff in spring on e-bay. I sure hope that
this club gets a bit of excitement jolted into it this year. It will be nice to see your new additions
that you add this year.

Browns are beautiful when you add the right lighting!!!

Just so happened I pulled my large cent album out this morning. I was searching for a few hole fillers that had a sweet brown toning with some nice juice left to it.

I had a Silver Eagle week myself. Building a porch for someone that is a silver hoarder has it's advantages. 2 tubes of Silver Eagles one roll 1996 MS and 1 roll 2001 MS ( 40 oz's = $673 ) and a $250 check was my weeks pay for a job well done.

Jackson,
I guess it all adds up to how nice you want your album to be. I build sets in the club that are also NGC certified for "what it's worth".. I also cherry-pick the same sets in raw coins for the albums I collect. O-K so I have 2 sets --- one NGC graded and one raw in albums. To me they are both the same value but honestly!!_---- the raw set in albums is more collector friendly.

Maybe ------ Everything I have these days needs updated....
NASF --- Rank 50
I have a proof submission to send in this winter for the ModCom's up to and including the 95-96 olympic coins.

40 clicks if the program platform does not work properly.

RMW, Gary, Alan, and Tom,
I guess we are all still here. Just hanging out in the shadows waiting for someone to turn on some lights. I have no plans to leave NGC but I was thinking that I was only one in a handful that decided to stay around here. The posts seem to be down to 7 or 10 a month.
I have a few submissions that need sent in -- nickels, dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars including Commemorative proofs. I usually send in coins that other friends are building sets of. That eases the heavy costs of each 50 coin submission when other collectors purchase a few high graders. Guess I will just need to wait till winter and see what happens here in the club.
Thanks for all the swell replies!!!!

Sorry, world coin collector here... But still not just lost but also not happy with the "improvements"...
Meade --- Nothing against World Collectors ---
Glad you joined the conversation. It is just so close to winter and I don't see things getting better around here. You would think that it would be so easy by now after 9 months of the transition to the new format. It's crazy and is actually the only reason I did not renew my membership for submissions. I spent $10K last year on submissions. This year I spent $0.

I'm still here but have not figured out the "new, improved" journals. I tried to submit one a couple of months ago, spent an hour or so writing, formatting and correcting it, then hit "Submit" and it vanished into the ether. Haven't wasted any more time on them, other than reading journals from the rare few that persisted until they found the magic key.
Hey Brother ----- I guess they now call media in the club ---- The NGC Challenge. Nothing works like you expect it to so you need to work around it. Kinda like trying to get a MS67 out of a MS66 ---- Impossible ---

Hey Rick I'm Rick
im here but a newbi. Still learning my way around. I collect US coins some of this some of that. I started about a year and a half ago. I do it because I like it. But really for my grand daughters 8 and 12. They seem to like the coins. It's just things to leave behind for them when I go. Bonds don't have very good returns so I thought coins mite be the way to go. I have not figured out what I want to collect for sets so I buy and trade. Also sell some on ebay. Most what I have for the kids are graded. I do have lots of raw stuff I need to go thru to sell or have graded. Any way pleasure to meet you. Have a great day
Rick
Hey Rick ------ Glad to meet ya!!!
Coins for your granddaughters is a fun and re memorable deal that they will never forget. It's not the value of the coins as it is the value of the memories and time with the grandchildren. A treasure they will hold forever in their life!! If you ever need a second opinion ---- give me a shout.

So is that the die he took and got fired for
An 1834 with small date and new additions added to a old 1833 die. I'm just saying --- If you add the new ideas to an old die ---- It's a old die from 1833 that has been worked on a bit and it shows.
-
There is more to the eye than is explained in this variety. I see a smaller 4 under the larger than needed 4 -- over a 3 as if it was a 1833 trial piece for the new date.

With MS grades like those I really hate to send in some PL business strikes!! I guess MS is so easy to designate these days
MS66???? Those look to be at least PF69UC's.
They killed the Collectors Society.

Back in the day!!
I remember logging in every Monday just to see which coin Jackson picked for "Coin of the Week". With beautiful pics and a full blown history and description of every special picked specimen.
Jackson --- You Rock
Not only has NGC lost many members due to their decisions of the past ---- They have missed out on many submissions as well. I have boxes full of submission material just sitting here with no collectors buying or trading lately. It makes no sense sending the submissions in if the sets I have are not trading out. In 2014 and 2015 I sent in over $10K in submissions and there was a collector interest in NGC that produced a full return on costs. Today it is a less positive collector base to insure that submission costs will be made from sales and trades. I am sure that the dealers have slowed down their NGC submissions lately as well.
I for one would like to see NGC make some positive ground breaking decisions that produce some great interests in coin collecting here in the club. I just don't see that happening lately.
Happy Coin Collecting!!
