I know that a great amount of what I post in this thread is esoteric but, none the less, some of it can be pretty nifty too!

 

I saw this on eBay and just had to have it. A number of folks had it in their watch list (probably in hopes of a price drop) but I once again said the hell with the price, as I far to often do.

 

This is a 1917 World War I Photo Coin/Medal/So Called Dollar - Not exactly sure how to classify it, but as you can see, it opens up to allow a small photo to be inserted. This one apparently was never used.

 

The coin is 33mm (or just smaller than a Morgan Dollar) and 14.3 grams, even though it is hollowed out.
