Popular Post LTMcCord
What are the chances of NGC creating a Trading Post where members with duplicate certified coins can trade with each other? Ray, USMC
I would be in for that. I think that is a great suggestion. Maybe they would consider that.

Ray, USMC
Why would we have to wait on NGC to create or add a "Trading Post" ? Couldn't we just start trading between willing members and use the market place thread after all barter is an accepted form of buying and selling isn't it ? I think anyone who wants to give it a try should start it and possibly more user/members would join in although it may be an invitation to Trolls. Caution would need to be exercised by all participants I would think. Question for Six Mile Rick: Any particular clad dime FT you are looking for ? What grades are you looking for ? Any specific MM ? rons
Woods020
I would be all in as well. I’m looking for FB Mercs, preferably PCGS, in top grades for a registry set I’m building. I’m looking to get out of Morgan’s and Franklin Halves. Actually if anyone is looking to trade for Morgan’s or Franklin halves for anything interesting I’m potentially interested. I’ve kind of lost interest in those two sets I have.
LTMcCord
I'm not completely computer illiterate, but how would we set up the trading post? I was thinking that if NGC did it we would have a built in safety net. We would need two side by side lists, one for WANTED and one for TO TRADE. If it were done by country and then coin denomination it would be easier to correlate needs and wants.

It would have to be the trust system at best. It's not like people would be standing in front of each other and counting down 3...2...1 swap and then seeing what they got.(yes, images would be exchanged 1st on the internet...etc) and I can't see high ticket items being done this way either so perhaps limiting the coin swap/exchange to a numeric value...example ...less than $100 or whatever. Overall ... Trust will be the factor.....but I see it as something that is feasible and I'd participate once things were made clearer. Popular Post Ray, USMC
My first question would be , why would participants expect a barter (trade deal) to be backed up by any third party least of all NGC. I would certainly agree that honor and trust would the true issue. These cannot be bought you either have them or you do not. The rest of this post is my opinion on these human traits. I was but a teenager when I joined the Marine Corps and did not yet understand completely how important your honor commitment and trust was in your life. When I came home thinking that those virtues which I held dear to me would be betrayed by an entire country. I learned quickly to not trust anyone and I was becoming bitter, aggressive and often time volant. I was only trusting of fellow Marines. My loving wife was the exact opposite in that she did and still believes everyone is good and basically honest at heart. We could not have been more opposite. Through her and remembering what I saw in the Marines I realized that I was not happy due to the fact I needed to live my life honorably and in order to gain trust I had to give trust. Sounds corny but for me it was true and I think today many years later I am a far better person for it. People cannot hide their true nature and have telltale signs in their conversations and postings that they may not be the person you want to deal with and at that point you have to make a choice to trust or walk away. Rely on your instinct not on a third party to back you up. I have bartered for most of my adult life without a safety net. For me if I choose to participate I would consider my offering a gift to the recipient (sending the item first) until I received their offering. I would never offer something I was not willing to loose. My opinion is the those who participate in good faith would not offer something they only had one of or something they were not willing to risk disappointment. Everything we do in or life is more or less based on trust and honor. This forum and those that participate here are some of the finest people I have had the pleasure of interacting with and so enjoy it. I have made friends with some whom I have never met in person but I am grateful for them. Life is all about choices, trust, honor, and virtue, non of which can be bought or sold. I am sure that any transaction that was not honored by both parties would quickly be exposed . I am sure that there are some that would disagree and that's fine. I cannot stress enough that this post is my opinion and the way I choose to live my life so a barter post would be great for me. In fact I would volunteer to be the first to participate . No expectation of any third party assurances or back up just old fashioned barter between two willing participants. I hope I have been clear to anyone who reads this post. This is supposed to be interesting and fun I would think. Some one needs to start the trading. kenlee47, CIII and Hoghead515 2
CIII
I have a bunch of slabbed mid grade $60-$100 Morgan Dollars for trade. If you are looking for a particular year and grade desired, let me know. I collect proof issues, anything pre 1900. I might be interested in an ancient. I also have some higher end coins I might be willing to discuss trading. I have some higher end seated quarters, Buffalo nickels and silver trimes that I have duplicates of. I am of firm belief of the honor system as well. I don’t think NGC would want to monitor or govern such a system, though. LTMcCord
OK here goes. I have a 1964 Canada silver dollar in NGC MS64, Pop 6/1. I would trade for another Canada silver dollar in MS65. Check my DADSCADS set to see what I don't have. I would also trade for Canada Loons, Toonies or Nickel dollars in MS69.

CBC
OK, I’ll try one. I have a 1945-P Jefferson nickel, NGC MS-67 in a recent edge-view slab. It is the only regular issue coin in my War Mickel set that is in an edge-view, so I would like to swap it for a 1945-P, NGC MS-67 in an older, non- edge view holder. Any interest? Popular Post bsshog40
I can see this thread going on and on and a lot of things missed or get lost. I agree a trading post would be beneficial but I would like to see a section where WTT could be separated for each individual to start their own thread. Ray, USMC
Certainly we are all winging it here and there needs to be some organization. I agree with what bsshog40 is saying. There has to be someone on this forum with organizational skills to set it up. That would not be me. I believe given the right structure it would be beneficial to all collectors new and seasoned alike. Long time collectors find themselves with duplicates as they improve their collections as do newbies which presents an opportunity to trade out or up. Don't know the best way to set it up but I would definitely participate. Just my opinion. Hoghead515
Modwriter
I am looking to straight swap/trade my extra Denver mint coins that I have in 2x2's for Philadelphia minted cents, nickels, dimes, quarters. 2014-D and newer. I do not find Philadelphia minted coins here in southern California in good condition. The coins I have submitted for grading come back MS65-66 and these extras are in that grade range.
