Conder101 got a reaction from KarenHolcomb in How many styles of 2's was made for 1982 Penny
The dollars you postedat the end, some show some definite light wear, and some of them are develioping some not very attrative toning. If they were sent in for grading they would come back probably ranging from AU55 through MS-62. I don't think any of them would make 63. As such their values would be well less than the cost of slabbing them.

Conder101 got a reaction from Shellsells in A Note for VERY New Collectors - Errors
Kurt the reason why the youtubers stress errors and varieties, and why so many newbies come here asking about them is because since 1965 there is pretty much NOTHING that can be found in pocket change or roll hunting that has any value over face except varieties or errors. And sets of circulating coins from 65 to date can be built roll hunting in just a few days. There is no challenge in that. So once they have those sets what do they do? One of the thrills for a new collector is usually finding something good in their change or a roll. Errors/varieties are about their only option. It takes awhile and some serious interest to develop befor the move on to the next step where they are willing to shell out money, sometimes serious money, for the older or high grade coins.
I am kind or surprised there are no exhibits in the error category this year. It does raise the question though whether this is the norm or are there usually exhibits in the category?
I've seen you "bad mouth" the interest in errors/varieties before. I understand they hold no interest to you, but do you bad mounth the collecting o every field that doesn't interest you?

Conder101 got a reaction from Johnny Reed Collection in Just pulled this out of a unc roll
Well so far you have never shown any pictures of your coin that look ANYTHING like the FS101.

Conder101 got a reaction from Marquez-Collector in 1978 D Lincoln with offset mint mart
Not sideways, just rotated a little clockwise. As Bob mentioned these mintmarks were punched into the dies by hand so a small rotation like this would not be unusual.

Conder101 got a reaction from Revenant in Interesting new ebay review service by NGC
Well if you can charge for it, and it is likely to result in another paid submission, and there is no obligation if you are wrong, why not? Especially if there is the possibility you can sell the same opinion to multiple people.

Conder101 got a reaction from TON Collection in Solid sterling silver moon coin? 26 grams
It isn't a coin, it is what it says it is, it's a medal. The Franklin mint made tons of different sterling silver medals years. For the most part they are just worth their melt value, but the quality of the workmanship was usually first rate.

Conder101 got a reaction from Mohawk in W-Quarters
The state quarter coins were hot with strong prices until the program ended. Then people moved on to the next hot item and interest in state quarters flagged. Once the ATB quarters end we will probably see the same thing even for the "low mintage" W quarters. I believe ALL the S mint business strikes have mintages well below the W quarters and except for the REALLY top end pieces most of them are under $10, some down to $6. And that is for slabbed coins. With the lower mintage S coins doing that, I don't see much long term potential for the more common W's.
