Picked up the half dollar at spot price to complete the 3pc. Set of centennial gold coins, (and to help out a friend) I will post all 3 of them.

I agree. Those proofs will sometimes get milky looking, but this one looks really nice.

Added two coins to my Birth Set Registry:
Like the obverse the reverse is unique, 67+ (only 10 57-P FT Roosie's in the Census)
Nice look with some color, 65FBL
The seller can not find the Franklin in his inventory. He said he had another Franklin in 65 FBl with better color. I told him to send it.
Here is the replacement coin:

A few newer ones. I was super lucky to have a guy with a fabulous collection decide to downsize a bit in my direction. A bit of a toner theme, but oh well. And, they really do look better in hand. I'll include the 'long view' of the one slab just to show how much better it can look. Getting the lighting right on these has been a challenge!

Much thanks. Fit in my budget too. How often does that happen? Not often enough for me.
It does have a little gouge on the tail feathers which shouldn't hold it back.

May be a lowly Nickel but dang I do think it's absolutely gorgeous with that blue reflecting off of it. Don't y'all agree?

Got a bit nostalgic digging around in my old flying eagle pattern files. Here's a pair of patterns purchased in 1990 that eventually went to Dr. Korein's ANS collection. Uspatterns.com has some great images and research on Gobrecht dollars in general and the copper versions specifically. http://uspatterns.com/gobdolincop.html
