I am just curious why you might think it may be a coin worth submitting for grading.

First thought I had! I would think that if a person can find a coin forum, they should be able to find the value of a 1972 circulated and damaged quarter. 25c

BSS, what I have had to do is open a NEW incognito window in Chrome and login from there.  What is unusual is that my Login and PW are remembered there but I bypass that automatic registry login thing.

It has something to do with a software glitch, cookies, and other stuff that is beyong my pay grade.xD  But doing the Incognito Window thing has NEVER failed to get me back in.

Actually, since I have DOZENS of tabs open in my normal Chrome browser having the Incognito setup is useful -- I use it only for ProFootballTalk.com and my coin websites (NGC, CT, GC, HA, etc.).  So usually 4-8 tabs open.  If I have to kill the Incognito Window there's nothing critical like my normal Chrome Window where I have websites I can't remember (there are probably 30-40 tabs !! xD ) plus where I left off.  Between the New Chrome and Windows 10, I haven't lost any of those webpages like I used to in the past without bookmarking all the tabs periodically.

I noticed that Windows 10 also automatically remembers your last-opened PDFs, Excel, and Word documents, FWIW.  Great improvements ! (thumbsu

Ya, I do everything on my phone as we don't have wifi. The only bad thing about using incognito is it hides my other pages that I have open in regular chrome. I would have to use incognito for everything. Don't care for that. Thanks for info tho'. It would be much simpler if ngc could just fix the problem. This is the only website I use that has this problem!

Where was I not listening? I didn't argue with anyone. I just noted that I thought a particular response was rude. That's all.

I was merely saying how I feel about these minor anomalies on coins. They are a waste of time to me. They have no value and basically no collectors who will pay extra for them. There are PLENTY of threads on this forum asking about minor things on coins. You probably could have answered your own question by looking at older threads. If you took me as being mean and rude, then so be it. If you like looking for things like that, then go for it. But don't expect me to worry about your feelings. I'm not a comfort dog!

If enough people do this, they never will get cheaper on the secondary market.

There will always be the bulk buyers. The mint is slowly just eliminating the low budget collectors with the increasing prices of their products. I put an end to my proof set collection and  my ASE collection because of this. I will eventually sell these off and resort to classic coinage. The only way my danscos will continue is what I find in pocket change.

Nothing that explains the extra lines on your Peace dollar, or connects it to known varieties.

There are quite a few Vams that reference the doubled olive branches and clash on the eagles right wing. This one was the 2013 Bailey 2DQ and was reassigned as the 2DS. It has a couple other die markers not noted on the variety but is still a known variety.

I was attempting to explain why there might not be any help because of the way VAM varieties are determined. Looks like it didn't work.

I posted this in the US Coins forum, not the Newbies section. The Vam isn't that big of an issue and doesn't add any value to the coin. The post was directed at those more experienced with Vams and maybe those that might be interested in Vams. Your comments leads me to think that you believe there are no more serious or experienced collectors on this forum anymore. I'm getting to the point of realizing that if it is something that does not interest you, then no one else would be interested either.

  7. So I had this marked as a Vam 2DS using Vam World. But mine doesn't have the faint die break under G in God. Anyway, there are tons of Vams for this year. Mine has a few things going on. I was trying to narrow it down but not quite sure which one it is. The pictures look pretty clear on my phone with text and lines of the issues. I just thought if anyone here still checks out Vams could look at it. This is why I posted in the US Coins section and not the Newbie Section. When you look at the link below, you can see why these can be confusing. Lol

Unfortunately the "top 50" and other named groupings are not the things new collectors ask about. New people find visually prominent or unusual things. Where are the introductory lists and explanations to help answer their questions -- and possibly draw them into that specialty?

I asked for help with a Vam, not a lecture!!!

You'll find a lot of clashes missing or not mentiond in VAM listings. It's an idiosyncratic product of VAM collecting, and I feel, a 'turn off' to new collectors who want to know about what they see on silver dollars.

Well this is more of a challenge for the senior collectors. The 1922 series has a lot of vams. Most of them are just cool factors but there are some in the top 50 recognized by the tpgs.

  10. So I happen to have a set of reprocessed 43's and also an MS65 original 43'. The first pics are of one of my reprocessed cents. Notice how it almost looks plated, has a blueish tint and how the edges are real shiny? The original cent at the two bottom pics show better fields and a more natural color. Pics are not the greatest but hope this helps.
