  1. I wonder if the San Fran mint actually made a run of 1908s coins as a trial to the 1909 it would be a cool find if so.
  2. Welcome, you have a nice collection of coins
  3. It could be legit; I could not find a reference to it. I see a double vest and chin also, it is like the die came loose and hit on an angle to make the double effect.
  4. Wow that is cool, a very high price cent. There is even a mintage number for a nonexistent coin
  5. I agree with Stang, also try to orient your shots north and south and use a white background to shoot photos it gives a truer color.
  6. I still keep most of them, but these are really rough, and I am sure a new collector may get a chance to see them.
  7. Just doing some fishing today, no keepers yet looks like a catch and release day. Still fun to find Wheaties in rolls.
  8. This is a rough one. I need another opinion? Is this looking like a 1919 S
  9. Whenever I see an old Coin or Red Book, I try to buy it. I now have the 30th 50th Anniversary edition, 56th and the 75th Anniversary edition.
  10. The wife wanted to go to the old bookstore today, so I said sure. She got nada but I found a nice 30th edition for $3.50 I think that is 55 cents over the original price.
  11. Not rare, just hard to find not sure why. Maybe because there are less than fifty graded higher.
  12. Yes white is always a better background. If you can shoot before you put it in the flip. Your shots are nice but still a bit out of focus that will come with more practice. Try to find a focus point on the coin and go with that.
  13. Welcome, even a butterknife handle will work to push them down.
  14. Yes, I agree. I have mentioned before that where I live is a big retirement area. Almost all the old banks have large walk-in vaults with safety deposit boxes. I think when the estates of these people come up a lot of stuff is cashed in.
  15. Very nice Rob, how did you find this one. Did you pull that coin from a proof set?
  16. A great idea but this is a nine-year-old thread.
  17. These coins are by no means worth grading I just find it amazing to find (cartwheel effect) 40+year-old Bu coins in circulation. These coins must have come from a collection now released into the wild.
