  1. This one just arrived Friday. Was an ebay auction and got a fairly decent deal on it. Nice and bright for a 57 Philly. Usually the planchets are pretty dark with a lot of flaws that won’t strike out. This one is not too bad but still has a few flaws. Nice full strike from dies that were in pretty good shape. The star is nice and sharp along with most of the other details. I am pleasantly surprised with this one. Here is a comparison to my other example which is also graded MS-66 5FS. Just hammers home the quality range you can have within the same grade.
  2. I don’t have much info for you but I do know a few numbers. 4W8 - 2005 P&D OCEAN IN VIEW JEFFERSON NICKEL ROLLS 4U8 - 2005 P&D BISON JEFFERSON NICKEL ROLLS 2X5 - 2006 P&D RETURN TO MONTICELLO JEFFERSON NICKEL ROLLS U06 - 2006 UNCIRCULATED/SMS MINT SET Hope this helps you out a little.
  3. It’s highly possible, anna may try somewhere else.
  4. I have all but the Wong quarter from last year. Normally around here it is all Denver mint stuff that is new but both of the Mankillers were from Philly. You don’t see many fresh P mint coins around here. No 23s for me as of yet.
  5. Yes these are just regular business strike coins. Silver proof set would have the quarters so yes. The 3 roll set is the only way to get the business strike S coins now since the Tuskegee rolls. Before that you could get S rolls by themselves and they also came in bags. Last year they only had around 7600 3 roll sets per design which put the S coins at a fairly low mintage of around 300,000. This year they bumped up the amount of sets to around 12,000 so mintages will be a little higher.
  6. Thanks. These are from the mint. Way too much for a cardboard and plastic box but, I did pick these up before the price increase last year. Still a ridiculous amount for a box but, I’m going for a nice presentation on this set. It’s a short set so it’s not a lot of boxes. I’m finally reaching a point to where the coin value has surpassed the box value.
  7. Nice to see you out and about @Modwriter. I don’t really have that many rolls aside from this AWQ project I have going. They are going into these boxes. Hope that somewhere down the line I get a few cool looking enders but, I’ll probably be dead by then. Got to start the new boxes today.
  8. It’s still the Fraser design. Same as the 22s. Looks like he has an ice cream cone stuck to the back of his head to me.
  9. Not sure what the technical term for this is but, it’s pretty cool. Reverse overlaid on the front. What is on the other side? I think there are a few paper guys on here that can give you better info. You would probably get some better info on the PMG forum. It’s all paper over there. @Fenntucky Mike could probably tell you. https://boards.pmgnotes.com/?_gl=1*fm6dln*_ga*MTc3MjUzMTU0Ni4xNjc2NjI2NjY3*_ga_S9SNF6BY3N*MTY3NjYyNjc1OC4xLjEuMTY3NjYyNjc4Ny4zMS4wLjA.
  10. I got the new PDS quarter set in the mail yesterday. Looks like they have changed up the packaging a little bit. No more white plastic tray and the box is different. At least I think this style of packaging keeps the rolls more secure. I have had a couple rolls come out of the tray during shipping and the ends of the rolls were crushed a little. Turned out to be a good set as I got both heads and tails enders on all 3 rolls.
  11. I think I am going to scale back quite a bit. The silver proof set will definitely be cut at a price of $130 and the 3 ASEs are probably out as well. I will keep up with the quarter rolls and I will be picking up one of the new proof Peace $. I think those should be some pretty sharp looking pieces. I have enrolled for the reverse proof Morgan and Peace set but, if the price is ridiculously high it may be cut as well.
  12. I figured a change was coming when they wouldn't put the prices on things.
  13. I got the confirmation emails for the 3 roll quarter set and for the 2023 proof ASE. Quarter set jumped from $54.00 to $60.00 and the ASE has jumped from $73.00 to $80.00
  14. Looks like a couple 56 not 36 coins and while not in terrible shape, not worth grading. They both look to have some circulation wear to them and maybe a few scratches. They don’t look like proofs to me.
  15. I agree. The 70s and 80s coins are tougher to find in nice condition than people think. High mintages but low quality.
