  5. To me they look like silver. Im gonna guess genuine. Look like they wore way down and been harshly cleaned. Look like culls. I may be wrong. I want to point out im no expert and this is just opinion. Someone with more knowledge will be along shortly.
  6. Looks genuine to me. Just some wear and looks like its been cleaned. Im gonna note though like I do on all my other guesses. Im still a newbie and could be wrong.
  7. Thats what I thought also. Looks like salt or sand or something.
  8. My thoughts when I saw it was it sit in a coin bag horded up for years. Sitting right against the side of the bag and it left that pattern. Could have set in a vault for decades like that. That was what came to my mind when I first saw it. I could be wrong tho.
  9. Kinda heartbreaking. Ive seen several nice ones on Ebay with big holes drilled in them. If they only knew what they were doing back then.
  10. Here i was bragging about my 1996 w dime and my Homer Simpson pj's. I need to figure out what your secret is.
  11. I haven't played it yet myself. Im gonna read it all the way through first. Im saving it as a surprise. It always helps me to read something twice. Then when I play the CD ill understand it better.
  12. Yep. Them sound like drunk man sentences. Who found wisdom near the bottom of the bottle.
  13. It is a very great book so far. I been taking my time reading it and studying as I read. Sometimes looking up what certain words mean or other things. Im just now on the floor plans. I made it to the San Francisco mint before I turned in. Im going to read it all the way thru the first time then read thru with the cd. Or should I do it vice versa? It is an amazing book. I never dreamed they was that advanced in chemistry and technology in the 1800s.
  14. Merry Christmas to you also. We just got done eating one of the biggest meals I ever seen. I ate 2 big plate full. I sure appreciate the offer.
  15. Not trying to knock your coin or nothing but just my opinion the 1904 looks over graded to me. I may be missing something but it is scratched up awful bad. Id guessed ms 62 just by the obverse if you hadn't told us.
  16. Looks like it just took a hit giving it the effect of looking like that.im saying damage.
  17. Im not sure about the CAC stickers. Im still very new to it all. But you have a Merry Christmas also. And nice coins. I dont have any Carson City dollars yet myself. But I saving my money up. I want a GSA CC dollar. Ive been putting 10 to 20 back a week for one. If I can quit spending it. Every time I save up a little I see a coin on Ebay I want. But I've filled several slots on my collection on other sets I been working on.
  18. Im no expert at all but I been trying to learn how to grade. Im just gonna take a wild guess at the second coin before the experts get on here. Wanna see how close I get. Im gonna say MS 62. Looks like a really good strike with lots of details but the bag marks on the devices will bring it down. Once again im no expert in any kind of way. Its just a noobie guess.
  19. Thats to bad. I guess they are a pretty good size grading company aint they. I don't know much about them but I've seen several of their slabs with very nice coins in them.
