  1. Poor fake. Really examine photos of genuine coins, every detail and compare to yours.
  2. I for one am not going to condemn only getting one side of the story. I have seen a lot of bannings on that forum, but never one that wasn't justified in some way. Not saying it never happened, but I didn't see it. You had a bad experience, move on.
  3. I've been on there for years without so much as a warning. there are a few members who are rather abrasive, but that is everywhere I guess.
  4. No error, this coin has been intentionally damaged.
  5. No, sorry to say it is just damaged, no error. The zinc is starting to corrode through the copper plating.
  6. Looks like a normal 1983 cent. Nice condition for it's age, but just worth face value.
  7. Will await better pictures, but so far it looks like a normal cent.
  8. So are you saying the field of the coin is kind of bulging? I can't make it out in the pictures, but if that is the case it is most likely from a failing die.
  9. Can you explain what you feel is an error? I don't understand "It looks like my penny ate someone isses...".
  10. They appear to be normal proof coins. They can lose a little of their "mirror" finish with a little toning over the years.
  11. I have to check to be sure, I think I am up to a little over 20 varieties. They can be very pricy though when you get into the rarer ones!
  12. Nope, that is a 48-g. It is a Rarity 1 variety which is very common. Great piece of history, I love the New Jersey coppers!
  13. Welcome to the forum. No, it isn't. Your coin is an obverse 48, if you post a picture of the reverse I can ID the variety. The 1787 over 1887 is not an error but a variety, 35-W.
  14. It can't be copper if it is rusted, copper does not rust. Why don't you post some pictures here for an opinion before spending the money to send it in?
  15. Definitely post mint damage, looks like it was hit with a punch or something of the sort.
  16. Welcome to the forum. Sorry to say your coin is just damaged, looks like someone pinched it with wire cutters.
  17. I agree, I metal detect and this is the way they come out of the ground. If it was struck over a cent, it would be smaller and thinner than a nickel and the weight of a cent.
  18. I think it may be a cast counterfeit, those are the casting sprue and the vent.
  19. It's only worth face value, not a keeper.
  20. Definitely not a proof. Kind of a mushy business strike, little if any wear though.
