    Not quite sure where you see DDR, pictures are too out of focus with too much glare to say for sure. Not being critical but to see any DD, photos have too be sharp with no glare.

    I agree, just damage that looks like an S. There is no way for that to happen during the striking of the coin.

    We are going to need a clear closeup of the mm in able to help you. We need to see all the detail clearly. Also your heading says DDD instead of RPM

    Although it is a little low, the mint marks were hand stamped into the dies so they can appear anywhere in that area below the date and right of the head. Don’t forget that there would have been hundreds of thousands of coins struck from that die so there are many more out there in that position.

    I believe there is only one known 1776 Pine Tree coin in existence. Everything else is a counterfeit.

    I know at first it is sometimes hard to distinguish between MD and DD. It took a while for me to catch on until one day it finally clicked and I have had no problem ever since. Here is a little chart I put together for someone on another Forum. It is pretty basic.

    Thanks for the reverse picture. Makes it much easier. Too me it looks like a counterfeit 1818 Coronet Head Large Cent.

    Welcome to the Chat Box Terminology correction- It is called a Doubled Die, also referred to as DD. Don’t really see any DD, certainly not worth spending about $50.00 on getting it graded

    Out of curiosity, why do you think it is worth getting graded. It would cost you over $50.00 for a 3 cent coin.

    You do realise that a 1941 Canadian Quarter is Silver so unless yours is silver, it is impossible for this to have happened.

    I would say no. The Die Clash is more prominent than what your quarter shows.
