Sms coins seem to always get a higher grade. Though not worth nearly as much. A cherrypicked ms68 is a unicorn. Let alone a Proof Like one, From uncirculated roll searches.

I've read a 65+ coin must be well struck. What if very few well struck coins for that yr , mint. To get ms66 or higher. Luster comes into play then. I've got a quarter ms68. But weak struck on parts. Other wise beautiful. Thanks Charles

In Coins, Mintage ,Error or ,, Condition raise the Rarity Value. Some high grades are'nt know put away.

I've seen lots of quarters similar, with the tacky look,out of mint rolls. Some kind of grease, on new dies. Idk. If so how would they ever make proof like 1st strikes.
