Alex in PA. got a reaction from Coinbuf in Road Trip
Alaska Airlines for one had a walk out of pilots wanting more coin and better conditions. With some others it was a bad weather front in Florida.

I'm sure everyone has heard about the meltdown in airline flights over the weekend. This affected the NGC team as it left the Whitman Baltimore show Saturday afternoon. Our direct flight from BWI to Sarasota was cancelled, and we were redirected to Columbus, Ohio with a connecting flight to Sarasota. After boarding the Columbus flight, we were then told that there would be no connecting flight before Tuesday night! The six of us elected to instead rent a van at BWI and drive the entire way, rotating stints at the wheel. It took us 18 hours to get home.

I figured that there was more to the story than the op was telling.

Not only "more to the story"....key material facts ?
Steve, you implied that NGC did you wrong and it appears you were grossly in error -- or worse, lying -- about how they treated you. Maybe you didn't know they had refunded the $$$ to you. We can't know for sure.
But they clearly did NOT keep your money for ungraded coins. NGC has come on and very succintly and definitively stated what they did and it appears 100% legit and fair.
You should explain what you meant and what your OP was about.

Very nice piece. Unfortunately they won’t CAC business strikes unless it is a 43/2 or one of the others. There are only certain Jeffs that will get a bean. Mainly old proofs and a few others. If you go to the CAC website, they have a list of Jeffs that qualify. Actually, here are the ones that qualify directly from the CAC website.

I got this one off EBay last night. The 1944-D is not a hard coin to get with FS. BUT - this one came in a (NGC MS67+ 5FS) holder, and when you look MS68FS, the prices go CrAzY! Hopefully, Albanese will give it a green bean - time will tell. Either way, I am excited to have this one, CAC would just be icing.

If you were an old geezer like me the name JB Tipton would have tipped you off. John Baresford Tipton was the benefactor in a show popular in the 50's called The Millionaire.

Biggest fraud since Cosmo Kramer ate that hot dog at the Bijou that was there from the Silent Era.

This in the "Big Foot" and "Yeti" category of nonsense.
Add some critical thinking and the "mystery" vanishes.

What Im trying to understand. Is if they were taking it to the Philly mint, if I read it right, why would they go through the trouble to bury it if they were already up there close to it? I may have read it wrong. Sometimes I have to read something 3 or 4 times to get it to sink in.

the FBI's dig for Civil War-era gold in Dents Run, Pa. Actually, it's buried in my back yard. Civil War buried gold!
Yep. They have been roaming the Hyner Mountain areas for decades looking for the 'Lost Prussian Castle" built on a high mountain top in Clinton County centuries ago. Believe Lafayette slept there.

I have always maintained that while it’s really tough to do numismatics without history, it’s downright IMPOSSIBLE to completely keep economics out of it. And where you find economics, you find his identical twin, politics. Pretending you can do numismatics completely without references to politics is frankly idiotic.

You clearly have not encountered Doug at CT. 100% arbitrary and capricious, and he literally even brags about being that way.

@Vess1 Sorry to hear you got banned. I belong to CT but I only read the posts that I'm interested. I also say it's not a "scam". Sounds like an OP with hurt feelings. Well, I'm off to watch General Hospital; have a good day.

Alex in PA. reacted to VKurtB in Wondering if this is mint error or damage later? It looks different than other damaged coins I've seen. Metal looks moved and set not moved from damage, if that makes sense?
A Yugo, then a Toro, which was heavier than the car.

I once had bathroom floor tile with a pattern that would change DISTANCE spontaneously when I was drunk or tired. Freaky.
