Steve C Boyer
I started this so I'll go first. I started with NGC a little over a year ago. So my one year subscription is over. On my last submission to NGC I was having trouble making ends meet do to Covit. So when my submission was ready I didn't have the funds to cover it. I called NGC and let then know my situation. They told me no problem that they would hold on to it tell I could pay. That was cool to me. So every week I'd call NGC and let them know I was doing my best to get the money together for them. It took one month. With 4 phone calls to them weekly. I felt so relieved that I was able to keep my promise to NGC and had them paid if full. They told me thanks and that they'll mail my submission to me straight away. The day came and I was excited about it like anyone of us are. Me more so knowing this struggle to pay. The box was the same kind I've received in the past from NGC. But when I opened it it was not slabs that I saw. They where my coins but in plastic folds. Upgraded and no paperwork. My heart hit the floor. The next day I called to find out what happened. They told me I couldn't pay so they removed all my coins from the slabs took my grades away and sent them back only after I paid. I then told them I did pay for them and that I was in contact with them. This made me live the nightmare over again about not being able to make the payment. So NGC told me it was my fault and did not offer any form of reimbursement. I would have been happy with just sending them back. But apon me asking for some kind of making this right. NGC shot me down. They keep my money that I struggled to get for a service that did not, would not do for a paid member of NGC. I did not pay for another year after that. Administrator Popular Post LISA B Posted March 18 Administrator Popular Post Share Posted March 18 Hello Steve, I've looked into this and you expressed your financial status to Scott and at that time the decision was made to send the coins back to you ungraded. You were not charged the grading fees, only the return shipping charges. Not only "more to the story"....key material facts ? Steve, you implied that NGC did you wrong and it appears you were grossly in error -- or worse, lying -- about how they treated you. Maybe you didn't know they had refunded the $$$ to you. We can't know for sure. But they clearly did NOT keep your money for ungraded coins. NGC has come on and very succintly and definitively stated what they did and it appears 100% legit and fair. You should explain what you meant and what your OP was about. Scott0949
I'm "shocked" that NGC said they would hold your coins until you could pay! With the amount of business they do, I think they went beyond the call of duty for you. Just my 2 cents.
