Keep it up, Mike! You're going to have an outstanding Barber collection for all denominations.

Oh, now that ticks me off. You need to sell that coin to me right now! Cool as the other side of the pillow.
No.......I want it!!!! Great Coin
I guess I make three, so maybe we should hold an elimination round. Who lives closest to Shane?

It's been 3 days since I got a new coin in the mail and man was it rough
and look and the polish lines all over the reverse.....coming out of the eagles mouth etc. There is a dash uner the second 8 in the date which is listed as a Vam 3 from what I can see in the book....
Only 3 or 4 days! Geez, it's been 3 or 4 weeks since I got anything, and that was 2 GSA Morgans. Take a look at this.

I like the 79!

Nice half, Mike. I was wondering where you were. Did you hunt for any other coins while you were on vacation? Where did you go?
Chris

I hope the rest of you are as impressed by the US Mint's latest creation as I am
I bought two, partly to ensure getting a 70, partly because it is a beautiful design recreated from history and I don't want just ONE !
It is pretty, but ordering two is no guarantee that you will get a 70. Just recently, I returned my 2008 Proof Sets to the Mint for replacements because they looked terrible. I can live with 69's, but there were at least five coins (total) in the two sets that were very doubtful.

Chris,
Good Point!!
I did? Uh, what point was that?

Very nice Morgan Shane!!
Great silver sets there Richard. I hope to be able to get a complete set again one day.
Bobby, I'm still holding onto yours. You can have them back whenever you want.
Chris
Hopefully one day Chris! (thumbs u
Nice Pickups there Hoard!!
Don't forget that I told you I would sell them back to you for the same price I paid.

You actually can't see the coins but you can see the box they came in today at the bottom of the picture. Ok... so they likely aren't anything real "special" but it does feel good to have the full set... well at least the ones represented by the stars on my American flag.
Check the 2005 KS 25c for the die gouge on the bison.
Did you happen to notice the Mint "Packaging Error"? Note the positioning of the dates, 2007 & 2008, on the boxes in relation to the previous years. I'm surprised someone on eBay hasn't hyped this and tried to sell a set for $10K.

!983 Double Die Reverse
Found this while using new QX-5-Probably AU since it was in circulation.
I was offered $125 for it.
Good deal or not??
Thanks!!!
Cool, Steve!
I'd take it. Where else could you earn a 12,499% profit over face value?

Looks like we are stuck.
When this thread first started, I used to throw in a medal with the same date as a "Wild Card". Then anyone could post whatever they wanted to give the thread a new beginning.
This is just a suggestion, but if someone is waiting for the opportunity to move the thread from, say, the 19th century to the 20th century or from Morgan dollars to Jefferson nickels, all they would have to do is insert a medal (or token) with the same date as the previous post and, then, post whatever 20th century coin they wanted immediately after it.

I like that '04O!

I have a couple dozen Morgans in old ANACS holders with no similar toning on them.

I believe the piece that Rey is showing was often included in the S-Mint US Mint Sets as an extra medal.
Tom, I seem to recall seeing a small medalet in a Mint Set somewhere, but it was for the Treasury Department only and not any particular Mint facility. You can still get the bronze medals, both 1-1/2" & 3", from the Mint for all of the facilities, excluding Dahlonega and Charlotte.

,,,,,,and if I could foresee the future, I would be in Las Vegas right now!
Hmmm, there are a lot of people who ARE in Las Vegas. Maybe we should see what they know.
The smart people who live in Las Vegas learned real quick not to make a habit of patronizing the casinos on a regular basis. The ones who didn't learn this went broke.

(According to spell check, that is a real word, so you don't have to spell it as under valued nor as under-valued. Now, the clincher is people who write "noone" instead of "no one" ... that bugs the heck out of me.)
Have you ever conducted a QC check on Spell Check? You might be surprised at the number of incorrect spellings and/or usages that are allowed.
Aw, come on! Noone Nobody uses no one.

Now if you're asking about future prices and what's likely to head up or down, that's another story....

Unless I'm missing something under the toning, it's at least a 64. I submitted 3 or 4 similarly toned for grading. None of them got a star, and one came back in a BB for AT. The BB reverse looked much like yours.
Nice Morgan!

Welcome to the neighborhood! This is just my opinion, but that looks AT to me.

The last coin - a 1902-P Quarter in PCGS 63 is one of my favorites.
Gee, I wonder why? Nice Barbers, Mike!

The most recent addition to my type set. These early pieces are kinda hard to find.
It is interesting to note the star placement and how cramped the 6 stars are in the viewer's right field. I think on hind thought that one of the 6 stars should have been placed with the eight on the left.
Um.........Victor........I count 7 stars on the right.

Hi, Mike, how have you been? Nice pick-up!
FACT: Naples, Florida has more Barbers than anywhere in the country.
