Geez, Harv, it would have been nice if you could have gotten the coins with the pics. I like the 80-D.

Those are nice Sky & Irvin, but when is someone going to post a '79-S Reverse of '78?

Those are awesome, James! I'll give them the (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u (thumbs u "You Suck" Award

Chris...I saw that Franklin set in the catalog listing..you could tell that the guy who writes the descriptions musta had his tongue hanging out.....an original BU-blast white set with almost all FBL's...I'd love to see pics of them individually if you get them photoed....I put an early feeler bid in just to get them on my watch list...but I was never in the ballpark for that set..congrats...
Actually, I thought it might go higher during the floor bidding. I was really surprised when it didn't. I'm definitely going to remove them from the Capital holder, but I don't know if I will put them in a DANSCO or submit them for grading. I'll examine them individually and try to get some decent photos when I have the time. Soon, I hope.

Well I got some morgans and a 96' eagle with a badly distracting fingerprint on it.
Get David Caruso from CSI: Miami to autograph it for you, and it could be worth big bucks.

Thanks, Arch! It should make it alot easier to "Stop & Shop".

This purchase was a big step for me but well worth it, IMO.
You suck!
Victor, I did not tell him to say that!

Picked up a couple of new commems this past couple of weeks.
1936 Texas NGC 67:
A blast white Stone Mountain NGC66:
And although it's not high grade the 1893 Columbian has exquisite toning, NGC64:
Just getting around to checking these. Nice commems! I like the TX.
Welcome to the neighborhood, JCM!

I think they are one of the prettiest coins made. Maybe I am biased because the design reminds me of some of my French medals. Unfortunately, I can't afford the Trade Dollars so I'll stick to the medals with similar designs.

Now that's a pretty coin.......I grew up in Ft.Myers
...........and the town hasn't been the same since he left.

Toyo, the dime and half dimes are absolutely stunning. Good for you!

Shane, you'll probably find it morphing into a lot more than that!

Those are nice, Shane! You are fortunate that they didn't get mixed up. Back in the 50's, it was not unusual for a hospital to give a "baby" to the wrong parents.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Pretty Boy! Post away!

I think the trick is to get the camera to focus on the test in the mirrors of the coin instead of the text on the paper the coin is sitting on. When I can figure that out it'll make for killer pics.
I take the pic from about a 30 degree angle above the coin which is held in a vertical position. Try using black or red print on a white background. The red background seems to mask the definition.

Nope, no haze, very mirrored. I took several dozen pics trying to get the reflection illustrated well but failed miserably . That's the best I could do. If there is some trick to getting the camera to focus on the reflection and not the coin itself I couldn't figure it out. The coin is a 62DMPL.Maybe it's the pics but are the fields hazed? I like DMPL's!!!!!!It's hard to capture in the plastic.

In case you didn't notice it's a double profile.
Let me guess..............is it a 1966SMS?
Also, check the eye, ear, IGWT and the designer initials for doubling.

Those are two Beautiful Morgans there Bob, fantastic images as well.

I couldn't agree more...looks like a Jimmy Buffet song...Tequilla Sunrise
I thought the Eagles sang Tequila Sunrise. And, yes, I like the 2nd '85 Morgan with that Key West sunset.

This little beauty just arrived, I picked it up at Stack's 72nd
Anniversary Sale last week or so. This is also the year my
Grandfather was born in County Cork, Ireland.
The grade is AU 58, in a PCGS holder.
I don't collect gold, but I'm curious about this $2-1/2. Liberty's ear looks strange, at least to me it does. It looks like there is an inner "lip" (for lack of a better word). Is that normal for this coin? I've never paid much attention to others.
That's a nice pick-up!

Shane, it wouldn't surprise me. The Monnaie de Paris has used many of the designs for other medals. There are dozens and dozens of different depictions of Marianne used for medals with different reverse themes. This one by Vernon (1858-1912) has captured her in all her beauty.

Thanks Chris Its in a older PCGS holder MS65
Are the blemishes around IN GOD WE TRUST and E PLURIBUS UNUM on the coin or the slab?

I think the Merc looks better than 67FB (but what do I know), and I agree with the star.
