Cool coins guys! I got this Morgan recently and just imaged it. It is graded MS-63 DMPL by ANACS.
Check the mintmark for an RPM. If you find remnants of the mintmark to the southwest, it may be a VAM-6, TOP 100.

Very pretty, amigo!

Thanks Chris; are you going to the Ft Myers coin show this Saturday -
January 23rd ?
I have not gone in quite a while - because I usually have to work on
Saturdays.
I'm glad you mentioned it because I had forgotten about it. Yes!

Irvin, you don't know the beauty of that set until you have seen it in hand. When Mike showed it to me at the FMCC Show, I was in total awe. A day or so later, I posted a comment about it here. A couple of the dimes on the first page of the Dansco had me so mesmerized with their royal blue rim toning that I failed to note or even mention that all of the dimes were wonderfully toned. How stupid of me!
I'm not a true fan of dimes particularly because of their small size and my diminishing eyesight, but any one of us would be truly graced to have this set as part of our collection. I will be anxious to see the results once they have all been slabbed by NGC. Well done, Mike!

You know, Mike, I just discovered something today. Your collection has become so heavy that Naples is now downhill from Ft. Myers. I can just put my car in neutral and roll the 20+ miles.

Chris - you remember my raw Barber Dime collection in the Dansco album that I brought to the Ft Myers coin club show a few years back ?
Well, I have since worked on a certified collection and completed it a few months back - but - I decided to have the raw set holdered; the collection was on display at Holsonbake Numismatics at FUN for three days - and it generated alot of interest.
How could I forget it?!! It is a wonderfully beautiful set.

Awesome, Mike!

Shane, the reverse of that '87 Morgan is gorgeous! I wish I could take pictures like that.
Chris
Yeah me too...I had the portrait studio at walmart do it....
You think that's funny you should have seen me trying to get the morgan to sit still and look straight ahead
Shucks, all you had to do was hold up a Greenback and say, "If you're a good little girl......."

Chris, if Mr. Elbesaar is Mike, then I'd have to agree with you. He must own a bank, otherwise his SDB fees would cost almost as much as his collection. Wow, never ceases to amaze me how gorgeous these coins are. High grade, key date, excellent eye appeal... what else would one want!
That's the one, alright!

Geez, Mike, your collection must be worth more than the combined net worth of all the residents of Naples!

Very attractive Walker.
Nice Cameo Roosevelt !!
Well...today's my birthday...
and thought I'd add this to
my 1891 Mint Set...
Very nice, Mike! It looks like it's probably a VAM-6.

Chris I think you miss read my post. I have a blunt 9 in NGC PF68UC and a point 9 in
NGC PF69UC. I said I am still looking for a blunt 9 in NGC PF69UC.
I just have interest in the ultra cameo coins.
Gotcha!

Chris... if you find the pointed 9, there should also be an Accented Hair Half to go along with it. Take a look and see if I'm right. But, I remember reading a while back that somehow the pointed 9 and the AH always accompany one another... or maybe there are some rogue pointed 9's, but every AH is paired with a pointed 9.... Does that make sense?
I've already "tagged" those. I've only got 4 of the Accented Hair halves.
Chris
Blunt 9 count so far: 18 out of 22 checked
Chris

So far, 4 out of 5 are the Blunt 9. Shall I keep going?
Chris
-
That will do! Fortunately, I have everything ready to go for my short trek to Orlando on the 9th, so I can make time to go through them. How rare is the Blunt 9? Are there any population estimates?
Chris
According to Breen the Pointed 9 is seen on Proof and business strike coins for the year and it estimated that fewer than two million coins with the Pointed 9 were produced. The variety is a linchpin to a complete collection of the Roosevelt Dime series, much as the Blunt 9, though considerably scarcer.
The blunt 9 in just PF67 goes for about $60.
Is this what you want? It was the first set I checked. Do I have to go through the 59 others?

Give me a break, Jaime! Are you going to make me go through the 60 sets I have looking for a "blunt 9"?
Chris
I have 2 Pointed 9's in PF69UC but I haven't been able to cherry pick a Blunt 9 yet.
60 set would only take a few minutes
Do you have comparison photos so I know what I'm doing?
Chris

Going back to NGC to get the designation onto the slabs.
Pointed 9
Blunt 9
Still looking for a Blunt 9 in PF-69UC

I thought you were saving your money for FUN? Uh-huh!
That's beautiful, and it would be a nice complement to my PCGS MS65DMPL.

Hi Chris,
I thought it went very nice with this 1891 Half...

The coin that started this thread.
170 pages later! I went through the first 20 pages, and it wore me out. It's all your fault.
Chris

Very nice, Mike, but where is the toning like in your Barber set?
Chris
-
I like it, too, but mine isn't nicely toned like this one.
It's too bad the Mint can't hire designerss & sculptors like those who produced some of the early commems. Nope, we have to have six (greasy spoon) cooks and some diddly Congressional oversight committee to tell us that what we want in the pot.
