Sometime there just is no definitive answer with regard to causes for these things. Even as experts on this forum view the coin there is no way to determine absolutely what caused this.I would agree with Woods020 only I think maybe a file but that's just a guess..

Daily post to keep this topic in plain view.

I have some strange friends that when told that cleaned coins will always be detected by TPG companies they just have to try to fool them. I have seen cleaned coins that have gone undetected and went on to receive full grades. Graders are hummin and therefore not perfect so mistakes can happen ( not very often) but it can happen. The same holds true when you try to get a coin of an obvious variety such as "edge lettered" and when you get it back the label states "Plain edge".. Disappointing news but everyone is capable of mistakes. Even graders. Just my opinion.

I am about ready to go for it. I will let you know what I will be doing soon. Maybe that will get the ball rolling.

These holders for ungraded notes are good and they make them for graded notes as well. They have sizes for small bills and large bills. As far as grading of notes and bills you can submit them to our hosts grading service for paper money. I hope this helps you

Quintus I hope you find Morpheous's explanation more in line . Sometimes I feel encouragement is as important as information, just my opinion.

You reminded me to see if I had them . Turns out my wife was right , I am a little crazy as apparently I have quite a stash of mint wrapped rolls and Mint sets. Maybe I contributed to the shortage, I hope not.

1 hour ago, ldhall said:I know I can't complete an ASE MS 70 set unless I include some proofs. If I get proofs with COA and have them graded what is possibly of 69 or 70 ? Sorry for the dumb question
You can complete a with some great effort but it is not and impossible goal. There also is no dumb question, ask away.

Wanting to keep this thread on the top of the listings because I believe it has merit. Children are special little creatures. Collectors need to inspire children and this is a good place to start. IMO

As I promised here is the daily post to keep this thread up front and alive. You see Hoghead515's children have been touched and a great testament to the fact that this thread could move so many other children. Look at the reactions. In the next few days I will make my decision and proceed with furthering this thread. Again I thank Woods020 for posing this great idea. Please follow his lead.

I would have to agree with GoldFinger1969 after all this is a coin forum and those are coins which cannot be viewed as political IMO.
