Thanks, I took your advice and brought out the ol' dremel. I went slowly, and tried to make sure I didn't go too far. I didn't want a divot or flat spot because I got too aggressive. You can't feel where it is with your fingers, so that is good enough for me. And it blends in better than I had hoped as well. EDIT: Wanted to say thanks again for the advice

I want to thank everyone for all their knowledge that u all have provided, I'm sorry if i came off to anyone in not good nature, I was just so skeptical because I am new to this forum and hobby. I really appreciate all the advice everyone has took the time out of their own lives to help me. Still disappointed in myself though, for not doing g the proper research first. Things are never to good to be true for me, so I should have known that it applied to this situation as well.

Don't feel like a fool....a lot of us have had this happen to us.  Before I became active in thematic collecting and my Faustina the Younger coins, I was an active collector of Ottoman coinage.  I purchased a gold 100 Kurush coin from the last Ottoman Sultan Mehmed VI, whose coins are scarce to rare and command significant premiums in most cases.  The coin looked right in every way and its weight was within tolerance.  I sent it to NGC, only for it to come back in a body bag with a little label that said "Not Genuine".  I was stunned!  At the time, I worked at a brick and mortar coin shop and we also bought scrap gold and platinum.  So, we tested my "100 Kurush" and it was made of gold....but of a completely incorrect alloy for an Ottoman 100 Kurush! So, I ended up selling my "treasure" to my boss for gold scrap. We then heavily defaced it and threw it in the melt pile.  My boss was considering keeping this "coin" for his black cabinet but he decided it was too good of a fake and it had to be destroyed.  Many of us have been here and it sucks.  But, the best thing to do is to pick yourself back up, dust yourself off, take your newfound knowledge and get back on the horse.  Knowledge is a valuable commodity, especially in this hobby, no matter how you come by it.  You'll do better next time and you've already taken a big step toward not having a repeat of this experience: joining this forum.  There are a lot of knowledgeable people here and there are also a ton of NGC resources to help you further with your learning processes.

If I ever join another Forum, I may make that my screen name.

I like your collecting idea and I love your coins!!  Very nice pickups.....and Pegasus Auctions is a great seller.  I bought a very nice Faustina the Younger denarius from them a couple of months ago and I am very pleased with it.  Thanks for sharing those!

I see a couple of carbon spots that I think will keep your coin out of that grade range, sadly.  I wouldn't bother submitting it.....pronounced carbon spots can definitely hurt the grade on copper (or copper-plated) coins.

Although your piece has the same design as a genuine coin, it is nowhere near identical. Look at the hair, face and tips of the rays. You need not look any farther than that to see that your piece is not an identical match.
Look, no one on here is trying to deceive you, beat you out of your coin, or cause you grief in any way. We are just trying to alert you to the fact that you have a replica, not a coin, and save you some money and heartache.

I agree, the similarities between our collecting paths are really interesting. It just goes to show how this hobby can help bring people together. I appreciate the kind words Tom, but that is far from a one-way street. I wholeheartedly echo that sentiment with the coins you’ve shared. You truly have an eye for quality and the Faustina coins you have shared have been absolutely stunning. The Victorian issues are very attractive so I can totally understand your point of view. That would have been a very impressive set to build. Nonetheless, you bring up an interesting point about the comparison between Victoria and Faustina. Perhaps at some point, you’ll find your collection captivated by both. 
I know how difficult that can be. There are just so many different paths Candice could take with her collection. If she is anything like me she will likely explore a few before she really decides on one. My offer stands for whenever she is ready. I am also happy to assist with any research she needs help with. I have a decent collection of reference books for British coins.
It really is a shame. I think a double date would be so much fun! Maybe after we all get done with grad school we can meet up at a coin show or something. Plus who knows, maybe I’ll have a conference in your area at some point. If this ever does occur you’ll have to bring your stock book. I would hate to miss an opportunity to see your collection in hand!

Though I no longer participate in the Registry anymore either, Bob, what you wrote is indeed accurate. 

Believe it or not, I haven't been bombed from above yet.....at least in the typical way.  Birds like to do weird things to me...like last late summer and early fall.  We have American Kestrels in the cemetery across from our house and for about two or three weeks, they were killing frogs and eating them in our driveway.  So we'd come out to go on our evening walks, and we'd greeted by the remains of at least one poor frog that the Kestrels mangled to get the tasty bits.   As I also love frogs, I wasn't too thrilled with these little "presents".  Since I know the Kestrels have to eat and I love them too, I'm not bothered when they do this with something that isn't cute, like a squirrel, a rat, a mouse or a chipmunk (I know, I'm a b*stard to the rodents).  But the frogs are cute!  Thankfully, our resident Red-Tailed Hawk pair, who nest and live in the woods behind our neighbor's house, returned back from a little soujourn after a few weeks (Red-Tailed Hawks sometimes take little "vacations") and they strongly encouraged the Kestrels to take their feeding activities back into the cemetery.  As the little stream where the frogs live is also part of the Red-Tail turf, it was also back to rodents for the Kestrels.  Their little excursion into Cajun cuisine was over.

I personally think you have an awesome outlook on this whole thing Coin Cave.  It sounds like you collect your coins first and because you love the coins, not necessarily because of the holder they're in and you're on the Registry because it's fun for you.  This is a hobby and it's supposed to be fun!  Sadly, I think a lot of people, particularly Competitive Registry collectors, seem to forget that.  They get so caught up in plastic collecting, Registry points and competition that they forget that they collect coins.  For me, the Registry was about one thing.....proving to myself that I could win a major award.  And I did.  Twice.  But, if I'm to be completely honest, Registry collecting lost its luster quickly once I had won that first award.  I quickly found myself wondering why I was continuing to do it.....I had reached my goal and that was good enough for me.  So I stopped and started chasing my ancients, which I love and which have so much to learn and so much variety that they will sustain me for years.  The second big win was for a set I had completed years ago aside from one big non-competitive rarity.  I know a lot of people would just keep trying to win again and again, but that's not the kind of guy I am.  I reached my goal and I was content with that.  The second award was an unexpected bonus.  I'd rather step aside gracefully and contentedly and allow others who haven't won have their shot at achieving that big goal for themselves while I move on to another chapter.  The best thing about the whole NGC thing for me (even better than the awards actually) was becoming a part of this community, and I've learned that I can be an active member here without Registry collecting.  You guys are my virtual coin club because the clubs around me.....well, they're not the greatest.  But I don't feel a void because I have you guys

Thanks for the kind words Tom. Sounds like quite the sight. Bob’s post made me laugh pretty hard. Now that is all I can picture when I think about all of those giant birds in one area. I was very pleased to add those two volumes to my collection. I think they slipped through the cracks at auction because I got them super cheap with only one other bidder in the mix. I wish I had the entire set. 
Haha well Tom, I apologize for putting a don’t in the budget, but I am very honored to know that I had some influence on both of your collections. The copper bug can be pretty severe. I used to trim my nose up at “copper people” when I was younger. I never understood why someone would pay good money for a cent. Now Copper is the only thing I collect. I have no doubt that you both will greatly enjoy the process. I obviously do not have any pointers/extras for the ancient coins but I may have some decent duplicated around if Candice is on the hunt for anything particular. 
I think I’m making progress with the Shakespeare books. She’s a Shakespeare scholar so it is right up her alley. She has a nice little collection of about 20 books that’s I’ve found at antique stores. The leather spines also look really good in the bookshelves in the living room so I suppose I have that going in my favor as well. It’s awesome that you were able to get Candice into coins. I can completely understand why a nice Victorian crown would do the trick. I mean who could resist a big well-designed piece of silver? Add some nice patina and luster and you’ve knocked it out of the park. I just haven’t found the Victorian crown equivalent for Madison. I have our entire lives to figure it out though!

Dang Thompson....cool find for being under a stump!  And, speaking of which, you've stumped me with those......I do not know anything about East Asian cast coinage other than recognizing it as East Asian cast coinage.  If I were to dig up a stump, I'd probably find something putrid that a raven or a crow stashed there and ended up not needing.  And I'd probably manage to hit myself in the face with said putrid thing.  I love birds, but they don't always love me back.
