Since I am a certified “quality snob” when it comes to coins, I’m always up for looking at nicer coins. But then, there’s the “other thing”. There are exactly TWO (2) known 1982-D small date bronze cents in existence. Two. Now you’re certainly free to imagine you are so meritorious that you just need to look hard enough for long enough and you’ll find number three. But the real mystery is why there were ever ANY of them. There should not be any. Each of the existing two make it LESS LIKELY a third will ever be found. 

Why? Why? Why are there so many corroded coins being shown? If it’s corroded, it is junk. Sorry, it just is!

Is Gold too High to Buy Now?
I won't be buying more gold or silver. For me it's too high but I'm sure it would turn out good, long term. My problem is my age. Anything long term is not very interesting to me. 

What I find that's idiotic is you being rude and insulting others over what they enjoy collecting. That's not what the ANA teaches and you know it. Nobody said anything about ignoring basic standards but no two collectors have the same standards. Some collect from pocket change and others only collect high end coins. There is nothing wrong with either. 
My heirs will not have any problem with my collection. They understand the hobby and will have all the information they will need to take proper actions. It's all about good record keeping and planning. 
 

It's not my place to tell others what and how to collect. Just have fun and do what you enjoy.

I was thinking the word YELLOWSTONE is recessed on the coin. I didn't know a filled die would have this look.

So, I was able to do it again! I found an 1805 C-4 (R.1) in XF40 with a rim clip. I didn't have the variety, and the rim clip makes it a little cool. This coin was a little more expensive than the Sushi dinner, but at $550... it's certainly an achievable coin for a collector that wants to squirrel a few dollars away for something cool.
This coin is not the example in my date set, but an accent piece. I just got it in hand, and I LOVE it. The surfaces are smooth and hard. There are no overly distracting marks to speak of. IMO it is pretty darn hard to find an XF40 half cent that looks as good as this - the clip is what makes it cool (and gives me an excuse to upgrade the variety one day).

Definitely a 56-n, also known as a camel head variety.  This is one of if not the most common NJ varieties, and as Just Bob stated is usually struck over other coins.  While it is very common, it is a popular variety for collectors and the value is enhanced if the undertype can be identified.

Your New Jersey copper appears to be variety W-5310, also known as Maris 56-n. Bowers states that most of these were overstruck on other coins, including Connecticut, Machin’s Mills, Nova Constellatio, Vermont, and others. It is one of the varieties often referred to as a “camel head.” Rarity is URS-13, meaning there are 2000-3999 examples known to exist.
