When the local bank failed, the Blaine WA City Council, under the direction of Council President Albert Balch and Mayor CV Wilder, allocated non interest bearing municipal warrants as security and issued wooden money against the warrants.
It was 1933, the heart of the Great Depression, and the council used the new wooden money to pay unemployed men to work at newly created city jobs. The businesses in the town accepted the wooden money at face value, redeeming them later with the city government.
The coins were issued in 5, 10, 25 and 50 cents, as well as $1 coins.
Blaine was only the second municipality in the country to issue depression era wooden money. (Tenino WA was first, in 1931.)

I agree. It was a good post. He learned something, and maybe others did, too.
Sure, a lot of us knew that it was damaged, but he didn't. So, he asked. But, he figured it out on his own. And, that's a good thing.

This is one of those instances where cleaning was the best thing to do. You did not lower the value of the coin - it is still worth one cent - and you leaned something. (And, I am sure others did/will, too).

For the benefit of any newbies who may read this post in the future: Using an abrasive method or an abrasive cleaner is not something you want to do, if you intend to sell or pass your coins down to your heirs. It will remove most, if not all, numismatic value from a coin. If you're cleaning a bunch of junk coins before returning them to circulation, or shining moderns up to encase them in epoxy to make a tabletop, or something like that, I suppose this works as well as anything. But, as a general rule, you should NEVER clean your coins.
On the other hand, a soak and rinse in acetone can be a safe method for removing gunk and PVC contamination, if done correctly.
Now, back to your regularly scheduled program..

It looks like extreme wear, coupled with corrosion that has since been cleaned off.

Bobby (bsshog40) and I, and probably others have reported this several times over the years, and sent questions to "ASK NGC", and nothing has ever been done about it, and no one from NGC has ever responded.
As others have mentioned, I have to log out to see who has responded to any post.
Interestingly, I can see who responds over on the comics forum, even when I am logged in.

It took a hit on the reverse, which pushed metal out on the obverse, causing the raised areas on the cheek and neck, and distorting the date. It also has damage in other areas, and considerable wear.

I have never ignored anyone. I guess I am too curious or too nosey. I find even most of the annoying posts interesting, and I would feel  like I was missing something if I did not at least give myself a chance to see if I wanted to read someone's post. And, believe me, I have skipped over many posts that I felt were a waste of time to read in their entirety. I never even blocked the troll who keeps coming back after being banned,  and who calls me out every time he returns with a new alt. ( To this day I still have no idea what I said or did to make him hate me so much.) There have been others who have taken potshots, too, but I don't pay much attention. Or, if I do, I get over it quickly. Life is too short to let an internet chat board control my mood.

Is there any damage or marking on the rim 180 degrees opposite this bent spot?

Your coin appears to simply be damaged. It would not receive a grade if submitted, in my opinion.

Although the angle and the lighting make the doubling a little more difficult to decipher, it does not appear to be hub doubling - which is the cause of a doubled die coin.

It's Tuesday on the east coast, US, even if it's still Monday here. 
The Rockport Hotel was built in 1901 by AV Pressentin, for the terminus of the new railroad, running upriver along the Skagit river, from the small town of Sedro Woolley, Washington. Later on a tavern was added. (Probably where this is from.)
The hotel burned to the ground in 1952.
