  1. I think you may have the wrong idea of what doubling looks like. There is no doubling that I can see on LIBERTY.
  2. There is no way for us to even begin to form an opinion on whether the coin is an AU or MS, without seeing a picture of the reverse. Also, keep in mind that 1921 Peace dollars are famous for having very weak strikes.
  3. Patience, young Padawan. NGC is giving the previous owner time to remove them from his/her registry.
  4. Welcome to the forum, My suggestion would be to have them authenticated, since they are almost certainly fake. These coins have been heavily counterfeited, and can be bought for a few pennies each on multiple websites. No serous collector will touch them without affirmation of authenticity from a recognized third party grading company.
  5. Competitive human nature being what it is, you would likely have people logging on to view their own sets 50 times a day, to skew the results in their favor. But, I like the idea. I wonder if there is some way sets could be nominated and then voted on by the members.
  6. I still think you need to buy a Red Book. And, it looks circulated to me, so I would grade it AU.
  7. The mint released 2016W Silver eagles in 2019 also, which were certified by NGC as the "2019 West Point Hoard." Is this going to be a yearly thing now? By the way, why is the mint hoarding silver eagles?
  8. Welcome to the forum I know you are excited, but would you mind slowing down, catching your breath, and explaining what you think you have found? I got so confused trying to figure out where one sentence stopped, and another one began, that I couldn't figure out what you were trying to say. Also, closer, clearer, cropped pictures of both sides of your coins (one coin per post) will go a long way in helping us to see what you see. Thanks
  9. Central High School in Jackson, MS was built in 1923. Author Eudora Welty was an alumnus. The building is now being use by the Dept of Education.
  10. Doesn't seem to be working in the case of recent Silver Eagles:
  11. Take a look at this article on the difference between doubled dies and machine doubling:\ LINK HERE
  12. I do not collect Canadian proof coins, but it would lower the value, in my opinion.
  13. Actually, you had it right. A partial collar error would show up on the edge of the coin. That is why he requested a picture of it. Partial collar picture below:
  14. Different guy. That was not Jonescoins' real name.
  15. It is likely because the graders found a flaw that prevented the coin from receiving a 70.
  16. I am going to bump this thread, because I really don't know what caused the reverse to look like this, and I am hoping someone will provide a definite answer.
  17. All right, "roll searchers." Time to turn those coins back in to the bank. From the local Lowe's store this evening:
  18. The obverse picture no longer shows up for me, but, I can give a grade for the reverse. The technical grade would actually be more in the VF/XF range.
