  1. When I re-looked at them Another 2002 coin the Love of horses 2002 is the same core silver and it is listed as such. It is N# 114940. However I did not see a reference for a version without the core. I am guessing there were three varieties for these two coins?
  2. Hello: I was going through a set of Queen mother 1 crown coins issued by the isle of man. On the 2002 Listed as KM 1139, I came across 2 variation different then the other 18 coins. The first I believe is the black pearl finish listed as N #  231780. The second seems to be bimetallic with a silver core. OI the attached pictures the 2002 are on the top and I put in another pair of Copper nickel and silver versions on the bottom for comparison. Is this The one with the silver core seemed striking and I could not find a reference for it. The third picture is the tissue test that shows the difference I think more easily. Does anyone Have an idea what this is? Thanks in Advance.
  3. I guess I will send it in for grading, Should I leave it in the case set or take it out for submission. I have never sent a set to NGC before. Thanks
  4. Thanks, The dark spot on the center is three dimensional like a piece of slag on the coin, could that be from the mint?
  5. I randomly came across this is a proof set, would this be an error? There is something on the coin causing the radiating toning? Thanks in advance
  6. Thanks for the great discussion, I changed my search parameter to token and I was able to find some info on numista, It references it as a gold plated token, with a weight of 24.8 g Which is close to my bronze token, and was mentioned by Greenstang. I also found a silver version on worthpoint. I still have no luck finding a bronze one, But I suppose it was an option at some point.
  7. Thanks for the replies, I have only read about them being gold plated silver not bronze, the one gold plated on I have weighs 26.9 g where the other weighs 24.6 g. I do not think gold playing would weigh 2.3g? IS that possible?
  8. Hello, I know about that two coins from the 1967 Canada set, There is the gold one. Then there is the gold plated silver one used in sets sold into the United Sates due to trade restrictions. Now I have come across a bronze one? I cannot seem to find any reference to this one. Can anyone help? Thanks
  9. Hello, I am having trouble finding information on this coin, It looks to be to be an Austrian good luck token, but the 1 is throwing me off and image searches have no proved useful. Can anyone help? Than
  10. Hello, and thanks! I cannot seem to find a reference for this coin, It looks like the 1885 but NGC does not seem to list this year. Any thoughts or help would be great!
  11. Hello, I came across this coin with an odd mark. I have seen other coins referenced on the web as having water or tear errors from the mint. But I am not sure if there is a way to truly tell or if it is an error that is meaningful to collector's. Any thoughts would be appreciated! The coin is a 1987 Canadian silver dollar. The magnification is 40X Thanks
  12. Thanks for the replies. I was guessing that NGC would ignore it or it does not matter. I just was not sure. I am still relatively new at this but NGC customer service is not very good. I had sent in several coins that all came out of the same book. 2 of the came back as " altered color" and three were not. When I called for an explanation of what that exactly means they told me it is up to the "whim" of the grader. I never found that to reassuring.
