A Fish Tail Tale.
Every once in a while, me and Rich meet up at the Fish Tail restaurant for a tasty bite and show and tell. Today, with bright sun blazing, we swapped our newest acquisitions for a brief visual inspection. As much as i liked hearing from Rich that my coins were "very, very nice", i got to admire and compliment him on some truly amazing gems. His Long Island has fantastic color and luster. a simple question really...not an april fools day question, yet.
As we all know, the new issue Washington dollar had a sizeable number of error coins produced without edge lettering. i had heard the figure 30,000 may have been introduced to circulation. my question is this; will ngc recognize this as separate from the correctly minted dollars, or simply ignore them? so far there seems to be no place for them in the presidential dollar set. i don't collect buffalo nickels, but i'll bet there ar
So I asked NGC for a score change...
Why? well i felt like my 1936d san diego in ms67 which scores 2495 points in the silver commem set should score higher than 1928 points which it scores in the type set. now there are some other type set "shrinkages" that i would consider unfair but dont apply to me as of now. the worst case being the Cincinnati/S in ms67 which would lose 2000 points because the type set uses the score of the Cincy/D. my 36D san diego is the rarer of the two san diegos but
should i finish or improve my set???
for the past 3 years i've decided to put my love for commems to the test by trying to put together a set of distinction with the best affordable coins available to me. unfortunately the very best commems are far more expensive than my wallet is deep. though i have invested a significant amount of coin for my collection, it may be the one thing i'll be remembered for, my legacy so to say.
