my new year dilemma

uncommon commems

should i finish or improve my set???

for the past 3 years i've decided to put my love for commems to the test by trying to put together a set of distinction with the best affordable coins available to me. unfortunately the very best commems are far more expensive than my wallet is deep. though i have invested a significant amount of coin for my collection, it may be the one thing i'll be remembered for, my legacy so to say.

i'm only 4 coins away from completing the 50 piece type set, but the coins will require a minimum investment of twenty grand. two of the issues, the cleveland and maine, are usually boring in ms67 grade and finding one of these with character and color is difficult and pricey. the isabella is much more likely to be available in ms66 but again a large investment will be required, (4 grand). lastly, do you know what an ms66 lafayette goes for?? more than my car and i cant drive it to work.

or should i improve on my coins that i can improve on with the finances available to me?? its just that some issues experience a big pop from ms66 to ms67. like my vermont, alabama, conn, long island, getty, huguenot, robinson, columbian.... at least i could sell my ms66's and the cost would be lessened. and i still find myself buying coins for the 144 piece complete commem set. i'm sooooo bad!!

i'm certain many of you other collectors are facing the same dilemma that i am. if this applies to you let me hear a hell yeah!! whatever i do, i know i've still got you all to listen and understand. thank you, peace.
