Safe Storage

Store Your Coins Safely My thoughts today are drawn to being spoiled by gold, and enjoying it frequently. Now a time is come to store, and let the luster wait for it's next viewing in storage. I prefer a solid safe embedded in the cement, myself. It makes rolling the safe out not an option. I like to have the time, but no longer do, to view the coins frequently. I leave a few exposed nearby, to view when mood strikes. I am not able to leave around as busy summertime makes this unwise, an

Why is Gold still a very attractive investment?

What forces drive this enormous demand? My opinion is not very important, but it guides me in choosing to lighten up or buy more gold. I believe that gold has continued its upward trend line, and not suffered a correction. This means that continued upward or demand pressures are not slowing down, but steady or trending to increase. So, price can only go up, because amounts produced are small, compared to what exists in currency form already. The market is not selling more than it is buying

Milestone 125,000 Registry Points

Too Late To Back Out Now? Gold is my favorite US coin. Which one? I like Coronets, I like Indians, and Saints! If only I had not grabbed the loop and looked at the deep satin luster that one fateful day! Too late to back out now! I am plunging forward with all due moderation. Diversifying into platinum meant buying a couple more platinum coins for my set, if interested. This diversification was at 1300 spot, and coins were costing in the 1400 range per oz for MS 69. Platinum is cold t

Diversify into Platinum?

Is platinum at a viable entry point? As time for evaluation of holdings is here, thoughts of buying more gold coins as I have in the past cross my mind. Should I consider silver? Should I consider proof silver and copper? The answer seems to be platinum. I am buying small platinum coins, hoping to build a respectable collection in time. A half ounce of platinum is roughly equal to one ounce of gold, currently. I can transfer a bit of gold out, and platinum in for low cost. This diversi

TPG's ANACS and ICG ~ SHOULD THEY BE ALLOWED?

MORE REASONS PRO AND NAY~ RESULT.... I have no objection to allowing ICG and ANACS into registry. I think it saves money, less cross-submissions. It also allows that money to be spent on more coins. This is a great thing, and surely NGC will not miss the income too much. Other reasons in support of this are that ANACS taught us to grade, their coins are generally graded accurately. ICG is too conservative, that cannot hurt the registry, either. So, I find several attractions to the idea.

COINS ARE CURRENCY. NGC IS GUIDE, BUT NO POLICING IS LEGAL, EXCEPT FEDERAL....

ONLY US FEDERAL AUTHORITIES MAY REGULATE CURRENCY EXCHANGE LEGALLY! STATES MAY NEVER EVEN CHARGE SALES TAX!!! Hi I read all these posts on policing, and it is needed. However, there are vital considerations I am scarcely qualified to say anything about, but feel need mentioning. Reason is that silver and gold, real money, were replaced by FIAT money, and now we must deal with it fairly. What is fair, and what is legal. More importantly, what is NOT LEGAL. First, dealers are preying on
