Seems like a lot to do over a die clash. I have seen more pronounced clashes then that one.   
Looks like another candidate for eBay sellers.

Sorry for the mundane post but the newbie threads seemed a bit boring to me the last few days. The article mentioned the quarters were Philadelphia mint and just missed the deadline for the Cherry.pickers guide.

Agree. Thanks for the heads up @Modwriter. We can at least be aware when they start popping up on here and also when we start seeing them listed on eBay for $10,000.

The obverse has a pretty impressive clash, in my opinion. It isn't often you see actual letters in the middle of a portrait.

Did you see the picture of the obverse? I was in agreement with you until I scrolled past the lead picture of the reverse.

Very solid point.  I can go along with that for sure.

@Modwriter I was not trying to put down your post.  And, I am sorry if I made you feel that way.  The clash is neat, and I think anyone would love to find one in change.   I think my reaction had more to do with the "hyping" nature of the article than the coin itself.  

Anytime is read, "In my opinion, the coin has more going for it than even many of the stronger clashes. First and foremost, the coin has pizzaz, or what I call “sizzle in the steak..." I start to have Mike Mezack vibes that cause a visceral reaction.

I live on the west coast and rarely find Philadelphia mint coins in my change and if I do, they are not worth saving. I do hope to see someone here finds a few of these quarters.

I live on the east cost and I have a hard time finding D and S coins. I am still looking for a circulated 2023 D nickel for my Whitman book.

I have one in this stack on my desk, I'll be happy to send it to you.  Has some lite wear and a couple scratches in the obv field that don't show in this photo.  Not a seller example but a good filler until you find a better example.

Also, @Modwriter, I was not trying to put down your posting with my comment either. As with @The Neophyte Numismatist, I did get a "weird" tone from the description of it in the article and that Mike Mezack comment was priceless!

I was simply stating that it is typical when these discoveries are made that coins like this will pop up on sites like eBay and Etsy with sellers trying to sell them for phenomenal prices. Again, I am glad for you providing us with the information as it gives us (and new collectors) something to look for like when the privvy W quarters were released into the wild.

I agree. Nice bold clash. It's not common for a clash to reach down in the devices of the die. It's fun to see something new being found.

These are so bold because that area of the  is rather high on the obv die, and the letters of EDITH on the reverse die are raised not incuse as the lettering usually is.  So those raised letters made STRONG contact with the obverse DIE.
