1799 Draped Bust dollar

I picked this up at a garage sale, They had five dollar grab bags. The guy said some has coins, stamps and trading cards. So I grabbed one and seen this. It doesn't stick to a magnet so I weighed it and said fake when it showed the weight. That would be under weight alot wouldn't it. Thought I would share, and get any thoughts on this. Thanks

BTW, the bag was full of mostly stamps and other goodies.

The official weight of a Draped Bust dollar is 26.96 grams, so, yes, this "coin" is quite underweight.  It also bears only a superficial resemblance to a genuine example, such as this one, which NGC graded VF 30 after I took the photos:

While there are a number of die varieties of 1799 dollars--mine, a BB-161, B-11, features a newer, though already clashed obverse paired with a worn reverse on which the berries had been polished off the olive branch--none has the shallow relief, the much smaller stars or the nearly missing word "LIBERTY" as on your grab bag piece.

The edges of these coins are supposed to bear the words "HUNDRED CENTS ONE DOLLAR OR UNIT" with decorative circles, rectangles, and stars between the words. What does the edge of the grab bag piece look like?

"squares" corrected to "stars"

Right off the bat a few things on the obverse jump out including the word "Liberty" is missing, the denticles are shaped wrong, the date is set wrong with the 9's too low (doesn't follow the curve of the edge), there are missing details that is not wear like some of the hair, and facial features are off like the nose is sloped differently and the mouth doesn't match.

I am sure if you spent some time comparing it to certified examples on CoinFacts for one in a similar condition you could find all kinds of additional differences.

It would be hard to believe they would put the real deal in a grab bag. The stamps are real ,that's a good thing. The only item that pays for the 5 dollar grab bag so far, is Barry bonds dad Bobby bonds gaints baseball card. It's around 6 dollars. Barry bonds is the famous one than his father. Thanks guys for the help very much appreciated.

Must have been a garage sell at the guys house that lost the bags full of counterfeit Morgans in the storage unit auction off.  Maybe related to the infamous casino counterfeit silver dollar seller.

It must have fallen off -- Bet the glue wasn't dry!

Speaking of interesting discoveries, if you're into exploring more, check out casinos with free spins no deposit poland for insights on free spins, no deposit required, in Poland. Now, back to the Draped Bust dollar – stumbling upon rare coins can lead to fascinating stories. The connection to a garage sale and the infamous casino counterfeit silver dollar seller adds an extra layer of intrigue. If only these coins could tell their tales! Have you considered getting the coin authenticated? It might unveil more secrets about its origin and history

Sadly, these bad boys have been imitated since their release, so finding fake ones isn't exactly news. They could've come from anywhere, not just some mysterious storage unit heist.

A well documented fake, the reverse is common for a series of these with different dates. I have images of half a dozen of these "1799" counterfeits with missing legend in my files, and wrote a Coin Week article on the "family".
