There is not a big market for these coins unless they are almost perfect, you will have to cross reference them with the real deal ones in the red book or on the NGC site.

Welcome. To start with can we see legible pics? It’s not hard to determine if it’s Cheerios or not, but nothing can be seen in those pics.

If it is a legit Cheerios Dollar it is worth getting graded and there is a big market for them and they worth a nice chunk of change. Just remember only 5500 of them were minted, and most of them are not actual Cheerios dollars. But again if you will post clear pics of the tail feathers you will know very quickly.

The lighting is poor and the coin would be easier to see if you had cropped out all that background.   However, when I zoom in I do not see the marker for this dollar to be a Cherrios coin, can you get a better closeup of the coin with more even light so the photo doesn't have the harsh bright and dark spots.

As to what to do it really depends on what you have and it would also be helpful to know how you came into possession of these coins.   If this was an inheritance it is possible that whomever you received them from was not sure about what he/she had.

The blue marker coin "description" also has a question mark after it............which means to me that someone WANTS you to THINK it was possibly a Cheerios coin. Go on eBay and look at the coins that specifically say "not a Cheerios coin" when you search for "Cheerios coin."  ;-)

The OP must not be confident, possibly wanting someone to make an offer. This is a very easy variety to recognize and all he needs to do is post better pics. But I assume at this point that the bad pics may have been strategic considering the radio silence.

Sorry for the horrible pictures I've been going through a whole box that I got from the bank. I'm trying back home now. I'll get better pics asap. I still have a few hundred to look at with my microscope. This is something I found last night in a roll. 2000d as soon as make it home and get back into again.

That is not a Cheerios coin, it is just a regular business strike.

If you are going to post photos of more coins, make sure each is in it’s own post with an explanation of what you are seeing.

You have posted photos of other coins without saying what your question is

OH my, That is a lot of tail feathers to look at. If I was to take a guess I would say there will not be one in the bank rolls. If the tubes are uncirculated still a very very long shot. You  see only 5000 coins( maybe ) were made and sent out to Cheerios separate before the 760 million regular coins were struck. Good luck hunting.

A triumph of optimism over reality.

Please understand, original poster, that EVEN IF THE FS-902’s were evenly distributed in the population of 2000-P “Sacs”, and they’re not, statistically you would have to check over 152,000 of them before you found one. How’s that box lookin’ now?

I'm just so unorganized and there's so many to focus on. I feel pretty good about a few for sure. I think the 2000d with the eagle's head in the wing is pretty interesting. I'm going to try and stop by a Coin shop today and get some supplies to protect them. Also wondering if they've ever found any wounded eagles on the 2000 D's?

Some people just have that lottery ticket mindset, I guess. That’s why I’m proud to live in a state with NO gambling. No scratch offs, no PowerBall, no sports books, no casinos. Nothing. And it’s NOT because I’m some kind of Baptist, either. I’m just anti-stupidity.

@Newbie 1026 Finding a Cheerios SAC is a tough task.  The odds are certainly stacked against you.  I wish you luck.

Since you are new, do yourself a favor and look for errors and varieties that are already documented.  Know the exact dates, mints, and markers to identify the error or variety.  This can all be found online up front, so make a small list.  Refer back to the images of the real thing often to help train your eye.  If you stick to what has been documented, you will have less chance of pareidolia.

Right now, you are showing 20+ SAC dollars in 2x2s.  Given the rarity of the Cheerios SAC, all of us know that these cannot be Cheerios.  Likewise, some of the coins in your pics show a fair amount of wear.  Generally speaking, SAC dollars only bring a numismatic premium in mint state.  You are certainly allowed to collect however you wish, but as a newer collector... you should think about the money you have invested in 20+ coins in 2x2s (and I assume you will have more in 2x2s after all the SAC hunting is over).  Think about those coins within a context of a coin it "could" buy.  Is there a $50 coin that would bring you more enjoyment than a pile of circulated SAC dollars?  If no - stack away!  This is your hobby - just want you to be "eyes wide open!"  Good luck.

Did you see how many bank (re)wrapped rolls his stash contains??? He’s got HUNDREDS tied up in Sacs. Not good. Not a wise use of time or resources.

Yes I did see that ? it looks like a package deal. I hope it was not something special from the internet shysters. At least it can go back to the bank for a refund of sorts.

Welcome.  We all have been where you’re at or similar and are sharing from experience, please don’t take offense.
I personally have a small collection of “what the heck was I thinking “ coins.  You can pick a couple and start your own. ( kinda lemons to lemonade sort of thing )

The Cherrypickers Guide is your road map.  The Redbook is a good resource.
Your hobby, make it fun and collect what you like. 😉🙀🦫
