Japan One Yen trying to figure out the year. 1 1

I have a Japan one Yen Silver Coin. I cannot figure out the year of the letters on the obverse of the coin. any help would be appreciated it.

Isn’t there a translation google or something. Sorry I’m old and don’t use correct terms. I know I have been on a thread where someone translated. Try google.

I'm currently figuring out the symbols in google. but translations i will try that as well. Thank you James.

I think it is 1914 also, but I am far from fluent in Japanese. Appears to be year three of Taisho

I'm comparing pictures on NGC website. I might be wrong or right woods.

You're right. Taisho Year 3, circa 1914, Y#38 in Krause, presuming authenticity. Here is a good place for dating modern Japanese coins.

It gets screwy after about 1947 when they switch directions, so one must always be alert for that.

Definitely going to be on alert when i come across this Coin again one day. Going to keep this one for my collection due to it's history.
