Revenant
I'm wondering if you've managed to streamline the process in this new system. In the past, we'd enter in a PCGS certification number and, if I remember right, an NGC employee would have to manually check it / confirm it and add it to our registry and our set, and this could take a few days. Will this (still) be the case with the new system or have you found a way to automate the process?

There will be a brief waiting/verification period after a collector enters a PCGS coin into his/her NGC Registry.
SSB Coins
Do you just add the PCGS number in the slot. I did and nothing responded.
Popular Post physics-fan3.14
Y'all are announcing this like it is some major upgrade or new feature. How about you acknowledge that this is reversing a wildly unpopular decision made a few years ago? A decision which turned many people off your brand, and saw your business hurt as a result of the negative publicity? How about an apology to all of the collectors insulted and betrayed by this bad decision? Do you think our memories are so short? (this isn't direct at you, Ali, you've always been very helpful - this is directed at the owners and bosses of NGC, and especially the one who wrote a lengthy opinion piece to try and justify his decision even after all of the negative feedback) Edited December 12, 2019 by physics-fan3.14 Morpheus1967, Abuelo's Collection and Conly Rieder 1 1

You will need to click on the appropriate grader and then enter your cert. number. If you don't, you may need to clear your cache or log out and log in again. Let us know if you need further assistance. Thank you. Edited December 12, 2019 by Ali E.

Popular Post Coinbuf
Wow I don't even know where to start, it was a bad decision in some ways when management decided to stop allowing PCGS graded coins into the competitive registry sets. The real issue was that PCGS coins already in a competitive set were grandfathered in but no new coins could be added, this was highly unfair to those starting new sets. But now you have some; maybe not many but some; collectors that have started a set under the now overruled change who may have passed over a PCGS coin because it could not be used in that registry set, I doubt that those few will be overly happy about passing on a coin that they could now use. When the change was made while I was not overly happy about it I did understand the reason, I however felt (and still do) that there was a much better and more fair solution to this whole issue. Back then I said that the registry standing should be calculated using only NGC graded coins, all PGCS graded coins would be allowed to be seen but given a point score of 0 for the purpose of awarding registry awards. No grandfathering needed, no exclusions, no muss and would have resulted in far fewer upset collectors imo; after all the scoring system is already in place as scores are calculated for NGC graded coins anyway. Just do away with the all coins category and boom done. I have to say that these changes do not make much sense and does not inspire confidence that management has a good understanding of what the customers want. Popular Post erwindoc
Im so glad that this is an option again! Popular Post FloridaFacelifter
I have 16 Best in Category awards for my competitive sets, and I stopped using the NGC Registry cold turkey when they would no longer add PCGS coins. Now upon receiving their email I just added 21 PCGS certified coins, and I'm happy they have come to their senses and decided to support the hobby and not just NGC. Quality coins come in both holders, now we once again have a place we can share our entire certified collections. Thank you NGC! Popular Post BlakeEik
Thank you NGC You needed to have an even playing field to keep people interested (by allowing all, or excluding all PCGS coins). Now you do, and it was a wise decision. I understand that NGC needs to promote NGC coins. Otherwise sets may be overrun with PCGS only coins. You may consider changing the focus of the "#1" set to be the "#1 NGC" set, and the secondary category be "mixed", the opposite of what it is now. I realize how slow it is to change these things, but I think it will help NGC in the long run to stay the focus in their own registry. Please let us know your feedback and questions. Read more I for one am very pleased that you have added the feature to allow PCGS graded coins as well as the NGC's! I had commented a few years ago that it would be great if we could have both top companies allowing it, to help keep up with our inventory, especially while away and able to double check to see if a certain coin is needed to add to our sets! I know I have gone into different places on vacation and found coins that were graded and would have liked to know for certain if it was the right coin needed, I have duplicates because of it! Thanks for doing this, I think most people would probably agree! But also, I am sure there will be some that don't like the change, if they don't, they don't have to use the feature! I've received coins as gifts and some friends and family don't know that there are different companies and that some folks only want one particular companies slab! NGC does not have a direct link type of access to the PCGS database (PCGS would not allow that I'm sure) so with no direct access there is no ability to do a bulk add. That is also why each coin must be verified by an NGC representative before it can be added to a set.

The reason cited when they were removed in 2012 is that there are differences in how PCGS and NGC label / designate some world coins / series and this made it hard for them to do the.manual checking. It was said that they had to do away with PCGS world coins to allow them to expand the registry to include more countries / world competitive categories - and that part of the registry has grown massively in the last 7 years.
