  1. Personally, I don’t care wether the coin is NGC or PCGS graded. I also don’t care if it is CAC as well. And I own all of these in one form or the other. Bottom line, I purchased the COIN, not the holder.
  2. Both are good. Depends on your preference. good luck!
  3. I only sell to upgrade, send to Great Collections, start auctions at $1.00 and let the market determine the price. I really don't trust any guides as it varies widely on the coin itself.
  4. I suggest you post some close ups of some of which you think are really good varieties and perhaps you can get some guidance on how to proceed.
  5. Add images of the coins if you have not already. comments about each individual coin. Do that by clicking on the date /mm to the right of the image, then click edit. Most likely that is why they are ranked higher than yours. Good luck.
  6. One other suggestion I forgot about. IMO, NGC needs to develop a better photo system for coin verification. PCGS with their TrueView pics for verification is amazing.
  7. I personally think your nickel has seen quite a bit of abuse in its life. It's almost impossible to determine any errors due to condition.
  8. If I recall correctly, NGC did not grade “modern” coins early on thus in some series there are many more PCGS coins in the marketplace in some series. I also believe there are some significant differences between NGC and PCGS in some series. Examples that I am familiar with are Roosevelt Dimes and Franklin Halves. In the dime, PCGS is more strict in their standards. In the halves I believe NGC is more stringent.
  9. Second photos are much better. Roosevelt dimes are tough to photo in their holders. If the second photos look like your coin in hand I myself would be very happy!
  10. NGC census only includes coins that they grade. It does not include coins by other certification companies. At times it is difficult IMO, to determine real rarity and value and quite a few series.
  11. I use the online form for all my U. S. coin submissions and have been doing so for a while.
  12. Ali, Based on your response to my comments above you are rejecting before consideration so not sure why you’re even asking for input. There are several sets where specific coins series do not have graded specimens to allow the number of people to complete the sets at the highest level. NGC also includes oddballs in a lot of sets that preclude collectors to complete the set. Example 1943/1942 overdate Jefferson. Pretty sure the mint never intended to release it as a production coin. Custom sets are fine but not on a competitive basis. lonnie
  13. Fellow collectors interests and coins. Organizational ability for collections as well as an easy way to document for insurance purposes.
  14. Allow registry users more input when new sets are requested. Not sole determination by NGC. Example: no FT set of silver Roosevelt dimes has been requested and always denied. Same with Mercury dimes, Jeff nickels without FS. Coins points based on the grade of the coin without the FT, FS, etc. designations. After all the registry is about the users. Thanks!
  15. It is my understanding that the NGC return shipping charges are based on the value estimated by the submitter. Perhaps that has changed?
  16. Attractively toned 1958-D Half certified by NGC as MS66. Cert Number is 2582246-002. IMO the coin is a littler darker than the photos. Price is $75.00 and I will pay the shipping. Prefer Paypal F & F for payment. I will consider offers. Thanks for looking - Lonnie
  17. There are collectors who really like the old PCI holders. I see nothing wrong with keeping the coin in the holder as it is. As for toning, the Peace dollars are difficult to find with attractive toning. Similar to most Franklin Halves n most years and mints.
  18. 1949-D NGC MS67*FT Cert No. 2712344-007 $145.00 Shipped Paypal F&F preferred.
  19. Great Collections by far. Most competitive rates of any auction house I am aware of and Ian is a real pleasure to work with!
