Thanks for the explanation, Mike. It gives an interesting appearance.

Nice Bust half, Victor.
Are the shape of the stars on this half characteristic of all Bust halves? It almost looks like a die break from the point of the star to the dentils.
-
Those must have been housed in an album to have such equal toning. Very nice matched set.
-
That's a monster '57, Sy.
-
In your honor Rey.
-
Great looking Frankies and Roosies.
-
That is a super Washington cent, Mike. Doesn't that have the edged lettering?
-
Super coins. Just what we need, another MPL collector.
You don't need to worry about me, Lee. You're in a different league than I am.
How many '17 proofs were minted?

Looking forward to seeing the 1914.Why couldn't my parent have studied harder in school?
What, you mean you haven't taught your kids that they must support you in the style you'd like to become accustomed to?!
Oh that's a good one. Fat chance. They say I'm on my own!
-
Thanks Bobby, Rey and Sy. They make my heart thump.
Sy, I told you about the 1910 in the email. Got one more coming and that is all the coins I'll be getting for a couple of months, darn it! Why couldn't my parent have studied harder in school?

It's nice to see images of MPLs, are you putting together a set?
I'm going to put the Frankies on the back burner for awhile. I am going to see how far I can go with the MPL's. Since I've pretty much shot my budget to *spoon*, more will come sometime later in the future. I just bought another one tonight, but won't get it for a week or so. It's a PCGS 1914 PF 66 RB.
I think they are exceptionally gorgeous coins. I also think that for the amout minted, they are undervalued.

Just got these two. Shopping for more if anyone is unloading.

Boy I sure wish I would have gobbled them up in the early nineties when I started with them. Who knew (with the exception of Rick Tomaska).
Actually the top notch slabbed ones back then were MUCH more expensive than they are now. As the population figures have climbed, the values have decreased... basic Economics 101. My '49-D is a case in point. Of course, I have yet to see a nicer one.
Well in that case we should have beat Rick to the punch. Maybe the early eighties would have been better.

That is a great gesture from Sy.

He knows Franklins for sure. He sent me an autographed copy of his book when it first came out (after I bought 4 Dcams). At the time I felt that I had more than paid for it. Beautiful book.
-
Nice going, Sy.You're starting to get like Russ, but instead of Kennedy's, you're taking all the Franklins. Boy I sure wish I would have gobbled them up in the early nineties when I started with them. Who knew (with the exception of Rick Tomaska).

That's a beauty, Rey. Is it FBL. Looks like it to me.
-
Boy Victor, that is one of the nicest SLH's I've ever seen. Gorgeous toning, high grade, low mintage, this coin has it all.
-
Nice Frankie Larry. Looks pretty close to FBL, is it? '59's are tough.
Thanks Bob. PCGS gave it a 65 FBL. I really thought it might get bagged. It was a $9.00 coin from a dealers junk bin.
Is that what they call cherry picking? I was going to say 66. Show it ats and they would tell to send it to NGC for an upgrade.

What hobby store can I get some of that neon paint? Fabulous toning. What hoard is that from?
-
I love all these Frankies. They just don't get enough attention. Rey and Irvin....very nice Franklins. Sy, both our '51s are very similar, especially the reverse. I guess we have to catch these graders on a good day. Maybe if Forida beats Ohio State in the championship game tonight, that will put them in a giddy mood. Send them in now!!!

Man, this post is moving fast now... while I was posting to Bob and John 2 posts hit.
Nice looking 1960 saen78!!!
Sweet '51 Bob. I must say you do REALLY good images of Frankie proofs.
Thanks Sy. You need to show us some from your fabulous collection.

That is a nice 51 Bob!
Thanks, Bruce. Now believe it or not, but that one is a Ucam. Not a 68, but is an NGC UCam. Maybe for the year that is all the frost they need.

That has the coloring of when you see a drop of gasoline in water. Very cool.
