Hello Walter,
It shouldn't be an issue. I will ask that the World Value you have here now be changed to World Standard and charge accordingly.
Thanks,
Lisa
Thanks Lisa that would great. The submission number if need is # 2880844

Once a coin is scheduled for grading can I change the tier. I submitted as economy, after thinking about it I was wondering if I should change to standard. Thanks

I have a feeling you may have paid a little more for your coin. It is very nice
I’m a tough negotiator, I just didn’t have a “+”” in my collection yet. I like my 63 just as much if not more. It has a lot of character.😊

I agree Walter, I have a lot of Morgan's in higher grades than this coin that do not have a DML field like this one has the cartwheel affect is quite nice on this piece. The photo does not do it justice.
I went to a card show to buy a Lion Daalder, couldn’t resist this one. My wife rolled her eyes and asked if I was tired of buying a coin from the same mint and year. I shrugged. Lol

1879 -1881 produced in San Francisco have strong strikes and sharpness. Although common, these are usually beautiful coins with original mint luster and mint frost. Eye appeal is very pleasant. I particularly like the sharpness of the inscriptions and denticles. Very nice coin. Now your spoiled, every other year and mint you look at will always be compared to your San Francisco. There is a huge difference in strike between yours and any from the New Orleans mint. Enjoy!

How do you get to 70,?
Only 213 have been graded PR70DCAM at PCGS. Sorry I don’t know anyone in Denver who could help you.

Over the weekend I picked up this 1650 Lion Dollar. I plan on submitting to NGC for authenticity validation and grading. Going on line I note that the few graded Lion dollars are listed as genuine. I don’t have a problem with that. However, I have seen pictures where NGC graded coins in far worse condition as AU58 and one at MS64. This doesn’t make sense to me. The highest grade was done in 2006. Should I request conservation services also? Thanks

Thank you for your insight. I’m looking for authenticity verification. I’m told this was minted in Utrecht, however, my research has yet to reveal how this is determined. One resource said the mint mark was “shield”. I have no idea what they’re talking about. Would you know how to Identify the mint?

I sent my lion in as foreign. It came back details, but it has character, as does yours.
BTW, I'm no expert on these so I'm assuming it's genuine. Good luck.

@901 Coins okay as promised I have weighed several tubes of 2022 ASE’s and found a few that weighed 31.35 grams or 1.105 toz. In comparison I weighed a tube of 1996 ASE’s and I found one that weighed 31.37 grams.
I do not doubt the authenticity of either of these years as they came from the same source. There is a reason distributors have the disclaimer that PM’s are non-fungible and priced in troy ounces. I did do a sliding magnetic test and ping test just to be sure. They all passed having slightly less magnetic resistance than a Morgan $. Hope this helps.

I just re weighed the heaviest/lightest from that tube and the heavy coin is indeed thicker.
This just may be a blank anomaly. Things in the silver market are getting stranger every day. US Mint cancels Peace and Morgan $’s in 2022 due to blank shortage. Authorized buyers of bullion products have had their allocations not only cut in half , but delivery has been pushed out from weekly to bi-weekly. Private mints are struggling to keep up with demand and premiums are through the roof. Demand pressures may be over riding quality control.

Yes a magnetic slant test is a good idea

Only what I’ve read about Aydin on EBay. I get my bullion direct from a US Mint authorized dealer In Delaware. I’m on a business trip until Saturday and haven’t weighed any of the 2022 ASE’s that I have. Since you’ve aroused my curiosity I will weigh a few tubes to see if there are any anomalies like yours and will post results here.

I know Aydin is a volume dealer on EBay. Unusual half are over weight. Measure diameter and thickness and compare to those that weighed within tolerance level. It is possible that the blanks provided to the mint were slightly off kilter.

I have seen some 0.10 grams over the spec which seems acceptable. Yours seems a bit high. Recalibrate scale with 100 grams, use a different year ASE to see the weight, next try the 2022 again and see what happens. Did you buy them from a trusted source? Don’t freak out yet.

Weight and purity along with a minimum of 1troy ounce of silver are guaranteed by the US government
- Composition: 99.9% silver
- Weight: 1.000 troy oz. (31.103 grams)
- Diameter: 1.598 inches (40.60 mm)
It should not have significant deviations from the specs unlike silver rounds and bars.
Silver stacking. Your opinions wanted.

Sovereign bullion coins are needed for liquidity in the event some must be sold due to an emergency. The same applies to accredited mint generic silver and gold bullion. The best bang for your buck right now are larger bars with less premium, such as 10 oz and 100 oz bars from ASAHI or other well known mints.
The premiums on ASE’s are absurd because of the US Mint reducing production. This is turn has caused premiums on other products including generics to double since October 2021. Good Luck!
