  1. I missed the Morgan and Peace deal but this is better. Ok Now I am happy, they wanted $120.00 I got the deal I wanted on this PR 70 DCAM for $80.00 it is worth a bit more than that.
  2. I am suppose to get one this Saturday I hope. I will post it if it happens.
  3. No I wont buy anything in those slabs, Way to chancy I could not get a new Morgan so I have my eye on one of these, Proof 70 DCAM for $80 I think it is a good deal.
  4. I like it Alex. I see the slab is PCGS . I am curious? I see these old slabs around a lot with no name on them and wanted to know. I'm sure some of you have seen these around and if it is a grading company or just something from Joe's Garage
  5. Not sure but I think it is still in it's case and the plastic is all scratched as for what to do with it it is your choice. blinewalker....Welcome to the forum
  6. That is a really nice coin love it when the edge is toned not to many marks on it at all. I am a nice guy, I think it could be a 66.
  7. I found a 1973 in the Yard sale batch that may be struck through grease . I found the same error on line for the really cheep price of $8000 if you want this penny which is in much better shape Than the one on line . I will trade it for a few 2021 Morgan's LoL
  8. I am a grandpa 10 times and 4 great grandkids and I did not plan on spending more than $99.99 a coin there is my wisdom.
  9. I'm glad I am not the only one who likes to hold a coin in his fingers. My wife is always saying we should buy some of those coins in the square cases. I tell her if we find one that is a good deal I will get her some. But it is a rarity to get a deal on a slab coin in the wild. Therefore I like the hunt it is more fun. Come down to the Cape and I will take you to my old antique dealers. They would love to get coins like yours LoL .. Most want to spend low and sell high. But a couple of my better shops have great people, old dealers that have retired and bring in tasty treats once in a while.
  10. So in reality the coins are only on paper. Not in coin bags ready to be shipped out. Well then it sounds like a possibility for the bad guy to make a lot of money. They always do
  11. It is a bit off the wall. I would think the US mint would want a Morgan in every home and a Peace Dollar in the garage. But it looks like there is something more at play here. Like a comeback from the US Mint . News flash due to popular demand we will be making more coins but at a little higher price than before
  12. I remember as a kid I got a 1964 mint set in a holder like this only to find out later it was a made up set not really from the mint. It looked real. It had 1964 coins in it
  13. I can see that the poor man will be left in the dust on this one. Not a very cheap sport we play .
  14. I did get a E-mail from them to pre-order I am sure they will get there's first being such a big dealer. My local dealer said you can preorder but if it comes out that date it will be magical LoL
  15. Ya I am still waiting for the new Eagle and that may not have a date yet I was told at a top dealer Saturday
  16. I love it when the coin shops have the goody grab bin. That 21-D was in a pile of 30 0r 40 Morgan's and he had another pile of Peace Dollars . I should have looked a little bit harder at it you can only see the scratches when it is on a 45% angel and with USB and good light.. my bad. the dealer is a cool guy if I bring it back he will treat me right. No mater what it is silver.
  17. The mint set looks fresh no fogging that's a BIG plus. I love the 34 toned George that is a sweet piece. But my 57 brother Ben looks like he has had a bath or 2 ??
  18. The 58is the nicest one Mike. They are all clean but dings + some rust spots messed with a few. Most of them are shiny coppers being in holders for so long. I have some with FS but they are not perfect some scratches or bag marks. One 68-D ghost and one 66 toner. But still a yard sale fun find. I will through up some of the shots for you all to see.
  19. Thanks MarkFeld.I have heard you have seen a few coins in your job. LoL
  20. I am having fun with this old set. Most of the pennies are real nice and FS others ended up with some spots on them inside the holders. I found a 68 D that is what I think they call ghosting where you can see the impression of Lincoln's head on the reverse. That's kinda cool
  21. Thank you all for your candid comments it is a big help. Getting better at grading is important in this hobby. I heard through the grape vine that RWB is the Peace Dollar Guru. I was given this 1922-S and I want to get a opinion. Any of you all please say what you think. Woods and I both think it has been cleaned but not ground down like that last Morgan . Can I squeak a VF40 or is it scrap silver all day long. Any comments please.
  22. Thanks for the info RWB and for taking a look both you and Woods. The top coin is good enough at AU for $31 .But I had a bad feeling about the other one and when I turned on the USB it was like Oh my gosh When silver goes up I will get my money back on that one LoL
  23. Now this is the other Girl. 1921 D I grabbed this hoping it was not a wiz job It has a mirror background. Now on getting it home and looking at it better with the USB it is scratched and all the scratches are very light and all going the same way like a buffing tool would clean it I would think. Or is just normal where and tear because of the mirrored background ?? I would like to give it a MS but let me know if you think it is tooled.
