  1. I agree I have been picking rolls rerolling the zinc and taking out all the copper coins that look good enough to file away and putting what copper is left in a big tin for when copper goes back up.
  2. Found a nice MS looking 2009 Early Childhood today. There not worth a whole lot unless it would grade a 67 but there is a mark on the C in cent, it is still nice to find them.
  3. I can say I had thoughts of using EBay for purchases and sales but after seeing the stuff people were try to sell like what happen to Hoghead .I refuse to be a part of it. It's just bad business for people who work hard at collecting.
  4. It's all good Tommy , Everyone is cool here you will get a lot of knowledge here I learn something new every day.
  5. Wow you beat me to it woods LoL I just got the same picture
  6. We are always watching out for them where my daughter lives in TN. We are always worried for them and then we get 3 last year which has never happened on Cape Cod and one goes through town ripping up trees 200 years old and 4' across it never harmed anyone ? and only minor damage to buildings
  7. Thank you for looking at it DWLange... I made this post to put up coin errors and odd stuff I find for everyone to see. I agree the coin is junk has been around the block in the laboratory and through the washer. People do strange thing to coins?. I see many coins worn out as thin as a dime roll hunting the only thing about this one is it was even thinner than a dime and the circumference was also the size of a dime which I don't see a lot. Here is a shot of the coin over another penny. you can see it fits inside the rim of the coin behind it. Kinda cool.
  8. Thanks Conder101 ,, I read somewhere originally Philly made them and WestPoint took over doing the Silver Eagles some time around 1999. But I was not sure because there's no mint mark. I guess they only mark special coins.
  9. So somebody really messed up in 1982 when they came up with that idea. And they still haven't fixed it 40 years later. Kinda like a bad chrome bumper ,, oh wait they don't make those any more. Boy am I getting old.
  10. Look at what came up today in a bank roll of quarters , A good old spitting horse. I got a few of these put away.
  11. We got no Rattlers Or big Flatheads around here much but we got some bad 25' Great White sharks that hang around about 15 miles from my house in Chatham LoL
  12. Thanks for taking a look Woods. Like I said I knew it had some bag marks and it was still the best looking coin I had seen in a while and the dealer was a cool guy. Gave me a great deal on all the coins I got. MS63 is a good call for it I think, and once I put it on the buffing wheel it will look like new maybe a 70......( LoL Just kidding )
  13. I just got back this weekend from being down that way, in Columbia Tenn. about 100 miles from Grant
  14. I thank you for you honest opinion I have seen many of your posts and you always look to be a straight shooter. I am pleased to know the dealer has a good eye also saying it is a 63 that also makes me happy.
  15. Yes I also noticed those marks when I purchased the coin they are not deep just brushed the surface like bag marks from another coins edge or letters from the looks of the spacing
  16. I was just reading about that coin in the new 2022 Redbook I got today . Maybe that is why there are two extra spaces in the 2010-2021 Whitman Park Quarters book I got . It looks Like they have a P,D,S mints with a 2021S .999 silver available also. Cool
  17. Thanks Hoghead, Deep Mirror yes I have heard of that . It is shiny but I don't think it is that shiny
  18. I did get a good deal on this 1901-0 it is already up 16% from the asking price for it a week ago. There are 3 types of grade for Morgan's listed... MS, PL and ( not sure what DMPL is ) I think it would not be worth the cost of grading unless it is PL 63 or better.
  19. So my next big coin question is ? I think we have a lot of expert coin graders in the forum and this Morgan I got is very nice so I took some shots with my handy microscope and wanted to know if you all think the dealer of 30 years in business grade of MS63 is a close match. I have looked at it closely and find it in really good shape with minor bag marks. Has it been cleaned ? I don't think so but who's to say. I opened the folder to get the weight of the coin and get better shots for you all to look at and share your thoughts.
  20. LoL yes Quintus it is a far better case for sure no disrespect to PCGS it was kind of a joke. When I was at the coin dealer I actually bought 2 in those round cases the first year 1986 and the last year 2021of that series of Eagles. I am amazed to see the quality in the cut of the die and strike from old to new.
  21. Yes thanks Bill. I thought it was a Philly but it is always good to ask. What a markup just to put it in a PCGS slab. Mine looks just as good if not better for $35 and $3 for the case
  22. Yes perhaps it not being a rarity just a normal coin for 2021 it merits no listing yet
  23. I got the new 2022 Red Book today and there is no listing for the new 2021 Silver eagle that has no mint mark. I just got one. I am guessing it is minted in Philadelphia but there is no listing in the book only 2021W and 2021S. Would anyone here know the reason why? Here is a shot of the coin and page for it.
  24. It looks like some could be die cracks but it is a slabbed coin which will make it hard for you to look at a good angle or feel the raised crack ?
