  1. Hinkle posted some Rosie's earlier with some face marks here are some more zits I have like 6 of each style
  2. Yes I think it is only Philly quarters that have the Line and the Chip. Whenever I compare a D to a P coin there is no comparison Denver coins are always a better strike they seem to hold up better over time than Philly coins. I think there are 4 different wing chip types or they are the same chip that just expanded in size over time..
  3. Hinkle and myself are on the same page today . We both seem to be looking at UFO's today ..........LOL I opened a roll of quarters and they were all 2020 Tall Grass Prairie with 20% of them with LAR line breaks and a bunch more with wing die chips, I have a tubes for each of these. Lar Line Break is my name for it. I have found photos of the wing die chips on line but have yet to find the Lar line .. On line.. LoL Please feel free to add any pictures you would like to put up.
  4. Ya those are different for the 2006 Mine are 2020 P some are a raised cud some are both funny there in the same spot 14 years later. Must be a common trouble area.
  5. Nice shots .Yes I believe you are correct on the die chips in the letters . I have some similar nickels with cuds on the left side of Monticello and the doorway. Good find, no big money in them but fun to find.
  6. A great story goes with every guitar. An older guitar player that used to be in my band in the eighty's Had a Gibson hollow body, starburst red I think it was a original Les Paul it was a piece of work. I asked him how long he had it he bought it brand new in 1957 man what a sound.
  7. Once upon a time it's weight was around 3.11 but time has taken it's toll,,,, kinda like me old and crusty hard to look at , Just wish I could loose weight ... LoL
  8. Oh my ..A 1938 Martin is worth a buck or 2. LoL I am just a Simple Guitar player Country and Classic Rock I have a El-cheepo 20 year old Esteban acoustic electric was in the local shop never been played still had wrap on the pick guard and keys got it for $150 and It is the best sounding cheep guitar stays in tune also have a used 80 or 90 s Fender star caster and a old 70s Avanti Bass and a 1967 Fender Rhodes keyboard . LoL I just love old stuff
  9. The 2022 is the 75th anniversary so I got it. I like it for a quick look on my desk and the coil binder makes it easier to look through but the internet has way more info nowadays than my last book in 19 years 2003 or this one has.
  10. Ya ,no WAM's here yet but I am still always a picking and a grinning.
  11. So I stopped by one of my antique shops today to see what was new. I forgot my Magnifying Glass so I wanted to give my numismatics a test for the fun of it and see if you guys agree with me. I looked at this Indian Head Nickel and said it looks to clean it was $4 so no big deal . Here is what I think ,(take a look and let me know what you think). I am seeing a massive cleaning with tool marks in the field around the buffalo and Indian face and nose also I was seeing some scratches that look like X's on both sides. I remember some of the old collectors would take a razor knife to coins that were bad so not to sell or look at them again.
  12. Welcome Nick....Not many 43 copper pennies were made to begin with they are vary rare ! It looks more like a 47 boiled in acid to make it look like bad a 43 LoL
  13. I agree I have been picking rolls rerolling the zinc and taking out all the copper coins that look good enough to file away and putting what copper is left in a big tin for when copper goes back up.
  14. Found a nice MS looking 2009 Early Childhood today. There not worth a whole lot unless it would grade a 67 but there is a mark on the C in cent, it is still nice to find them.
  15. I can say I had thoughts of using EBay for purchases and sales but after seeing the stuff people were try to sell like what happen to Hoghead .I refuse to be a part of it. It's just bad business for people who work hard at collecting.
  16. It's all good Tommy , Everyone is cool here you will get a lot of knowledge here I learn something new every day.
  17. Wow you beat me to it woods LoL I just got the same picture
  18. We are always watching out for them where my daughter lives in TN. We are always worried for them and then we get 3 last year which has never happened on Cape Cod and one goes through town ripping up trees 200 years old and 4' across it never harmed anyone ? and only minor damage to buildings
  19. Thank you for looking at it DWLange... I made this post to put up coin errors and odd stuff I find for everyone to see. I agree the coin is junk has been around the block in the laboratory and through the washer. People do strange thing to coins?. I see many coins worn out as thin as a dime roll hunting the only thing about this one is it was even thinner than a dime and the circumference was also the size of a dime which I don't see a lot. Here is a shot of the coin over another penny. you can see it fits inside the rim of the coin behind it. Kinda cool.
  20. Thanks Conder101 ,, I read somewhere originally Philly made them and WestPoint took over doing the Silver Eagles some time around 1999. But I was not sure because there's no mint mark. I guess they only mark special coins.
  21. So somebody really messed up in 1982 when they came up with that idea. And they still haven't fixed it 40 years later. Kinda like a bad chrome bumper ,, oh wait they don't make those any more. Boy am I getting old.
  22. Look at what came up today in a bank roll of quarters , A good old spitting horse. I got a few of these put away.
