  1. I'll be honest, Larry.... I don't really care to post any coins on this forum right now. Sorry. I know you're trying. But there isn't much point in trying until the cancer is removed.
  2. Or... not ironic that a non-collector couldn't care less about the interests of collectors? The ANA is an outdated, useless, and pointless organization that exists only because of tradition. They've been around, and so they're still around. I don't know what they do, or why they exist, except to apparently feed VKB's ego.
  3. So basically, you're saying.. the ANA is useless, ineffective, incompetent, poorly managed, and doesn't care about collectors or dealers? Also, I guess they don't address concerns? Then... what's the point? They are basically a political committee. They sound like Congress. They sound as absolutely useless as any politician ever has been. And yeah, I know VKB is a political hack. Point intended.
  4. Gold... I'd literally prefer this site be shut down and cease to exist, instead of what it has become. There are 2 users that need to be deleted from their digital existence, and then this site may possibly become the place it used to be. I hate them, they hate me. I'm okay with it.... but I'm not okay with what they've done to this forum. And No, Gold, neither of us will coexist until one of us is gone.
  5. QA.. are you just an absolute a......le alt for VKB? Their voices are indistinguishable. Nobody would lament losing QA or VKB. Check the transcript... they literally always appear to defend each other, and puff each other up. They are both insufferable, both are absolute jerks, both offer literally zero to the community or forum, both should be deleted from digital existence... It all makes sense now.
  6. VKurtB seems to express indignant hatred and unfettered disgust for the numismatic forum community. He has said on multiple occasions that his precious ANA and all those who seem be his sycophants that they literally worship him, think he can do no wrong, and welcome his every inspired word. And yet, he deigns to insult us with his presence? One wonders why. One begins to wonder if he needs this. He needs the hate we give. He thrives on our disgust. What sort of individual is this? Should we shun him, or pity him, that he requires our hatred so?
  7. Al - I absolutely love super-in-depth research of a particular topic well beyond anything available in the mainstream. This is exactly the sort of thing I support to further the study of numismatics. I assume that your research has used Roger Burdette and Rick Tomaska as jumping off points? Both wrote groundbreaking books on the subject (in very different eras of numismatic study).
  8. I didn't read the article, but I kinda feel I probably don't need to waste my time. Some of the things on that list are controversial. Some of the things on that list are widely accepted by the numismatic community, and while plebes who can't afford them might complain about them, they aren't going anywhere. And some of the things on that list aren't coins and I don't know why they're even mentioned, except for clickbait. Shoot, some of them don't even exist, except in fanboy's dreams. Seems like CoinWorld has succumbed to that internet plague.. clickbait.
  9. I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew. Thank you for your support. Yes, Cancer sucks. And yeah, your second point has merit as well.
  10. Probably the most interesting post in this trainwreck that explains why this forum has died. Hijacked by hooligans, who don't even care that they are careening off the edge!
  11. Yeah, that sucks. Alot.I've known Michelle since we were kids. This girl is like a sister to me. I love her more than my actual sister.Anyways, she moved in while I was in Israel, in September. In early October, she invited me out to the back porch and told me that she was diagnosed with Stage 1 Cancer. They caught it early, it hasn't spread, it's localized... all "good" news. She is having Surgery on December 2, and hopefully everything will all be ok after that. It's supposed to be a relatively easy process.Michelle loves flowers. They bring her joy. They brighten her day. They will help her recovery. Please help me fill her room with so many flowers! I've created a GoFundMe, and I would really very much appreciate your help. Thank you.https://gofund.me/fcdf9e49
  12. Can't say I blame you. There are a couple of posters who overwhelm threads with their nonsense, and have really ruined this forum.
  13. While I recognize that the edge is incredibly important on coins like this (I collect Capped Bust Halves), I have not really experimented with how to most effectively photograph the edges.
  14. Haha, I don't know why, but when you said "Hawaiian Half Dollar" my mind instantly went to the fascinating story of the 1883 issue from San Francisco featuring King Kalakaua. It later occurred to me that you were talking about commemorative halves, as you usually do!
  15. I'm slightly confused by your post. Who do you believe is envious of whom? Please clarify.
  16. Yes, as CoinBuf describes, you have "split plating doubling". There is still some debate over exactly what form the name will take. But, a great description can be found here: https://www.lincolncentforum.com/plating-split-doubling-split-line-doubling/ It is very common and quite worthless... you have a regular cent worth a cent.
  17. I pretty much only use the grey NGC boxes. I've tried a bunch of others (PCGS boxes really only fit PCGS slabs, go figure). Whitman made a box that was supposed to be universal, but in reality it just didn't fit anything well. The NGC boxes fit the old PCGS slabs perfectly, but PCGS redesigned their slabs a few years ago to be a bit thicker. Now, I have to angle the slab as shown below. It means I can only fit 18 in a box instead of 20, but I can fit both PCGS and NGC slabs together in the same box. That suits me nicely. I also have some extra thick slabs... those I just angle as well.
  18. Just a helpful hint.... I don't know what your default "Sort" order is on your website, but it greatly aids us in finding what we want if it is sorted by date (1948, 1949, and so on). Fun fact... the "Sort by Date" selection in your drop down doesn't work properly. You do have some absolutely incredible coins for sale, if you tweak your website just a bit.
  19. That really sucks! My roommate was recently diagnosed with cancer, so I'm becoming familiar with the struggles. Best wishes to the Lange family, for a full recovery and ease of any pain.
  20. If you contact the JRCS (John Reich Collectors Society) by email or facebook, someone there might be able to help you.
  21. Very few people did - that's why modern numismatic researchers like Roger are so valuable. And why they have literally re-written what we thought we knew about numismatic history. One of the best of the mid-20th century was probably Don Taxay.
  22. Of all the people that regularly post, I'm pretty sure that *you* are not the problem.
