  1. Eagle, yeah, unless you ready to spend a lot of money, time and effort seeking them out, and quite frankly, to what end? I understand from a reliable source that NGC may soon allow the creation of custom sets, as does the collectors society branch of NGC. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to figure out how to upload my images yet, so I’m hopeful that will happen. Until then, I know they are safely stored.
  2. Also another interesting note. There are three beautiful girls on Facebook with their name Morgan Dollar!
  3. Thanks Neo and Eagle. That coinworld article was astounding!
  4. Good grief Neo Gregory Brunks book is $303. You’d have to be quite interested in counterstamps to justify it.
  5. Food for thought, are these coins that you could clean and shine up?
  6. Interesting tidbit from David Bowers https://stacksbowers.com/counterstamp-gallery-of-coins-qdb/#:~:text=Over a long period of,to advertise products and services.
  7. Why were they stamped? Many Pennie’s and nickels were stamped. I’m starting to think this is a new challenge . are the new Lincoln cent stamped coins just someone messing around defacing coins, or is it actually profitable to stamp them for resale? why early coins are stamped in low denominations? curious minds want to know, 😝
  8. I keep seeing sales like the attached. And begin to think “Crack em out”
  9. Coinbuf, ok, I gave in and bought the IS boxes. Now I’m going to have to unload all those very nice cigar boxes! Lol 😆 at least there is a market for those. in the long run, whether I keep them or sell them, the IS boxes will be important. value add for selling, safe storage if keeping. Thanks for the HO. Bill

  11. I specifically did not go after Silver sets. Only have 1, the 2011 plus the pre 1964 sets, and the 40% sets through 1970. Nice to know someone who has done this. Since you quit them in 2021, why not catch up?
  12. That’s ok, I have my registered birth set all NGC. And I don’t have the Booker T.
  13. Ya I know a fella that has a 1954 set in OGP box for $130 maybe I’ll do a few more to get to my birth year 1947 (omg) you that old?
  14. Thanks Coinbuf, I may just make sure they are in and continue to be in a relatively dry environment with dessicant packs in each box. Since the copper in these sets is really nothing outstanding, if they reacted, would it just be toning, and doesn’t that help value? I’m really not sure what I’ll do with All if them yet, but if I get a chance to sell the whole lot, I might. For now, goal accomplished , on the next big thing. At the very least, I have acquired over 550 proof coins and that in and of itself is an accomplishment. B
  15. Just the challenge, and because I do like them all.
