The reason for the "Newbie Coin Collecting Questions" section was specifically made for the topic of this thread. It's where newbies come here to ask questions and advice about coins. There are a lot of  seasoned members and new members here with lots of knowledge and information to help. The problem that we seem to have lately is people giving bad advice, even if it is in jest, and people that seem to derail the threads because they have grievances with other members.  There has also been newbies that do not accept information and/or advice given and that you cannot fix. My advice is to stick to the topics of the thread and only provide helpful information and/or advice that you yourself would like to receive if you were a newbie again.  Every one of us were newbies at one time. We've all made mistakes in collecting. I have always tried to keep a motto of helping someone not make the same mistake I may have made. I presume that most of us are adults here. Some of the comments I've seen lately on these forums look like they are coming out of the mouths of children. I say treat someone's post as if it were your post and try to use respect in the process. I hope everyone has a Safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

So thats a good point to put on there. In bold letters. IF ITS LOOKS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT MORE THAN LIKELY IS.

You Tube has got everyone looking for them and making them think they gonna get rich.  Im a newbie to but I try to live in reality the best I can. I will watch Fox News, because it DOES RATE as the most “down the middle” news source, but no farther starboard than that. 

Infowars no different from MSNBC or ...I was going to say CNN but they aren't really any thing resembling news.. 
Alex Jones for all his faults has been right about a lot of stuff.. Check out Rogans podcast with Alex.. They fact check EVERYTHING on the spot and Alex was right every time..

Yes, it is MORE LIKELY that a set coin will grade higher, but not a guarantee. It still needs to be the grade. 

Patience is harder to preach when two separate things are threatening to “take you to room temperature”, but I press on, and take the drugs, and wear the mask, and get the jab the instant they say I can. I am waiting for the 2020 W’s to “calm down some”.

Yup, patience is required, as in many things in this hobby. Rushing is never good. 

A bunch of us back woods boys and girls have shooting competitions here where I live all the time. Firearms are a way of life here in my part of the country. Don't know how we'd get by without em. We live a whole lot off the land hunting and fishing. I've taught my kids as well how to safely handle them and shoot

67’s are tough to justify anywhere. Some designs are even tougher than the rest. 

I can be serious, but if a newbie doesn't see that I'm joking, they should not be collecting. It's called thinning out the herd.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I had my son Ben read this thread. He went shopping, came back with a magnifying glass, a Taurus revolver, a loop, Red Book, PayPal account, and he's growing a beard. I guess he's set!   Edit: 11/25 0738 hrs. - Ok, once again, I presumed everyone would know I was being facetious, so to clarify, No he did not go shopping an include a revolver nor is he growing a beard. I was just trying to bring attention to how far off track the thread went. I learned and enjoyed it All.....

You might have a few rolls of 'em sitting around....and ask the cherubim to stand so you can look under their seats for SMS and Neophytim.
